Have a couple of Jagermechs I run in FP. Both are dual guass and 2 medium lasers.

Both in same match died from ammo explosions. (will post pics when I finish match on other computer). I have been gone from MWO for a few months and didn't see any changes in Gauss ammo....I thought it didn't explode?

IIRC it does not, but the weapon does and says ammo explosion on the death screen.

I thought they fixed that

It should say "Weapon Explosion" now


AMS ammo explodes, if you have that. 48 damage would be enough to kill an isXL

It should say weapon explosion and not ammo explosion

If someone crits your gauss and it blows up on an IS arm the damage will go into the side torso because IS doesn't have CASE on every component

That could have been enough to blow out your XL

Did they? Been a while since I ran a IS gauss mech. If so, then yeah AMS?

I can confirm that, as of this morning at least, Gauss Rifles still show 'Ammo Explosion.' I know this because I am grinding a Grid Iron, so I see a lot of Gauss Rifles explode.

When I was driving my Gauss-equipped Kodiak today, I thought I heard "weapon explosion".

Weapon explosion detected audio is a thing. But if it kills you does it say ammo explosion or weapon explosion for cause of death, That is the question.
