Just look how sad it is, its like a sad puppy.

Like a baby, that someone took the binky from.

Like me, in solo scouting.

I've actually been seeing a good number of them in play lately... often with x3 ERPPC or the like... they tend to do well, you just have to be mindful of how balls huge it is.

They are a heck of a lot better than they used to be. The remodel/rescale slimmed them down a bit. I actually kind of, sort of, enjoy them, on a minimalist I'll play them over Victors or Zeus sort of way.

When was the last time you saw a non-lrm Awesome in FW?

Yeah, if PGI could go ahead and replace AWS structure buffs with armor buffs...

... that would be great.

Stopped playing CW...so maybe six months ago...

...wait, so are you saying people bring LRM Awsomes into CW? Jesus Christ on a *******, I heard CW had gotten bad, but I had no idea it was that bad.

Edit: GOD DAMN CENSOR!!! C r a c k e r is a food item, not a slur, it hasn't been a slur since like 1968. And to those who the slur was originally directed, they were never offended by it even when it was in use!!!

Is it a good platform for 'learning' how to use PPCs? I ask because I love Awesome, but my poor performance with PPCs, and the Awesome's poor reputation, keep me away.

Sort of...the problem with learning PPCs is every god damn mech using them has a different velocity quirk, so learning them is more about getting used to different lead times on different mechs more than just using a mech that lets you boat more than 2. Honestly I'd "learn" PPCs on a mech without good quirks but with high hard points (Stalker maybe). But then I am a terribad and have no business suggesting how folks should learn anything. So take this as you will. To me PPCs need a back up weapons or a mech with lots of mobility and really ought to have high hard points. The Awesome doesn't provide much in the way of either that other chassis don't do better. I prefer the Tbolt 9s or even a Black Jack or Phoenix Hawk. For the reasons I mentioned I even put PPCs (or ERPPCs) on Grasshoppers and Quickdraws.

I wouldn't bring an Awesome into FW. Even LRM-Awesome is a very bad idea imo.

Awesome is pretty decent as a PPC platform. Quad PPC and triple ER-PPC both handle and perform well enough. the type of PPC mainly depends on your favorable range of engagement and playstyle.

Quad PPC awesome with flamers. Make them pay for getting within 90 meters. Also have a ********** that helps you make them pay :P

Triple ER PPC is more self sufficient and easier to manage heat wise though

Don't play that often these days but the Awesome was fun I thought until the clans arrived, then it's weaknesses really showed up how bad they were, since then the quirks and remodel have made them seem to perform quite well.

I maybe will give them a spin once more, if I finish mastering what I currently own

The 8Q is not as bad as some people might like to think. 4 ERPPCs works surprisingly well against iERLL mechs on maps where high mounts aren't a necessity (like Frozen City).

I honestly thought they would shrink it's width. But they didn't. Instead they just made the torso smaller overall. But that thing can't fit in some places.

If they moved the torso hard points further up the chest it would help a bit

I really enjoy the 8Q. I love to chain fire spam people with them. It's not efficient to do so in terms of pin point damage. But it messes with their head. They immediately start to back peddle into cover. It's only the smart guys that realize I'm only hitting them with one at a time

I love the awesome, but I can't recommend it. Pet peeve - one of the heaviest armored mechs in tabletop, and instead of armor quirks it gets structure. Because reasons..

That said, it has some of the best PPC quirks in the game. Pro-tip, the 8Q quirks work for both PPCs and ERPPCs.
