I accidentally headshotted a locust from 900 meters when i was aiming at a kodiak with gauss+ppc before the range adjustment

I headshotted two HBK-4Ps in a row in the caldera of old Terra Therma. I think I was in a BJ-1X, and no they weren't both shut down. Every time I see a HBK-4P, I remember back to that moment. I don't think I've headshot one since. =[

Killed a shadowcat with 2 lb10s from 400m away, through a gap the size of a mechs foot without targeting info, lock, or even a the knowledge of whos mech it was for sure, his, or my teammate brawling him.

This was last night i think. When i heard my warhorn go off it shocked the heck out of me.

What probably actually happened is that your weapons don't completely converge until they reach the target the corsshair is aimed at. If you were in something like a dual guass Jagermech with your guass rifles on either side of you then you need to realize that until your rounds reach their aimed at target, the two rounds are actually in two different flight trajectories until they either hit something or finally converge on the point they were aimed at when the trigger was pulled. What likely happened is before your rounds had completely converged another damaged enemy got in the way and took one of your guass rounds and died while the actual target you were aiming at took the second guass round and died from it. The odds of this happening are incredible. So even so, it is a very memorable shot.

Way back in the day I was playing in a small group on old Caustic. Match was close but we were down a couple of kills late in the game. As I was moving around the center in my Cherry CT/RT, yellow LT Victor I spot a Stalker in the Caldera. As soon as I see him though I drop because he started looking at me and I knew I could not take a single shot to any torso.

So I move along the outside for a bit and hit the jump jets full on while pointing my fresh left arm at him. As I do this my friend (who had died and was on my view in spectator) over TS goes "oh, nope you're jumping to high, Stalker in the center is going to get you". In response I channel my inner Han Solo and respond with "I know". As I say this I get slammed in the left arm by ppcs, instantly slam the arms left and land a perfect full stretched out arms alpha to the stalker CT and he goes down.

Then, as my friend is freaking out over the shot over TS and I'm still falling back to the ground I spot an enemy Victor about to alpha strike me. I slam my mech back to the right just in time to again block the shot with my left arm. As he moved into the center I kept moving around the edge and when he went to pop up for another shot, I shot out his open ST before he could get take the shot. IIRC we went on to barely win the match but in less dramatic fashion.

That match is what got me to start recording/streaming matches. Though sadly I’ve never caught anything that perfect. Some great shots sure, but nothing like that.

Headshot an enemy Ebon Jaguar that was standing behind a dead ally Atlas with my PPC Marauder. He called me a hacker, when in reality it was just me panicking and firing at what I thought was an enemy Atlas right beside me.

2 instances for me, both on Old Frozen City.

First was in an Atlas back in olden times. I was playing around with an AC10 build for some reason and snapped a shot at an enemy who was almost cored out. A friendly Raven jumped into the way and the shot blew him out of the sky, only to continue on and take out my original target too. I got a simultaneous Team Kill and Killing Blow with one AC10 round.

Second was also in an Atlas, but an SRM/AC20/ML build. A spider was busy running around buildings near a base wrecking my teammates who couldn't seem to hit him (pre-HSR). I anticipated that he'd be coming around a corner so I pointed at where I thought he'd appear, timed it, and alpha'd. He turned the corner right into my volley and vaporized. I think all he had left that wasn't destroyed were his limbs.

My "best" death from friendly fire was pretty funny to me.

I'm in a light mech duel my Raven 3L vs a Jenner. This fight is taking place around 600m away from a bigger furball of heavy and assault mechs.

My team mate is using a Gauss Jager and is sniping into the furball.He lets fly with a shot from the twin gauss and misses the Gauss rounds go past the target through another mechs legs and under the arm of another mech travel another 600m or so and smack right into my cockpit. Wish I still had the vid from his POV.

I guess there's that time a few years ago when my Gauss 20 Jager landed a headshot on a Firestarter in OG Therma, but it's not really note worthy compared to the Crimson headshot imho

Why on earth are you running 20 rear armor on your Jagermech, Ms. Tsuki?

Old Forest Colony during 8v8 days, I am last one alive on my team in an Awesome, CT is cherry red and I am in the water. One enemy left is a fresh mech near eastern spawn, I forget exactly what it was but I think maybe a Cataphract. I came around the corner of the ship and put three PPCs into his cockpit from about 300m for the win. Was accused of cheating, but it was just a good shot.

This was a quite a long time ago. I was on the old frozen city in a catapult K2 with erppcs. After my side had cleaned up most of the enemy, there were 3 or 4 of us left chasing around a commando. Instead of joining everyone else in the chase, I decided to cut off the enemy, and placed myself near the tail of the crashed ship on the flat low ground, where I had a clear shot down to the far end of the tunnel, between the cliffs and the city. Sure enough, they chased him around, and he came tearing around the corner and straight at me. I lined up my shot, and then, just as I pressed down on the mouse button, my aim shifted slightly down, and instead of ct, I was aiming between his legs. As the bolts screamed from my guns, I wanted to bang my head on the desk, but then, by the miracle of convergence, instead of missing the commando, my bolts of death slammed into both of his legs at the same time, spattering the snow with molten metal. Yep, 1 shot, 2 legs. I wish I could claim that shot. I want so badly to say Yeah, I did that on purpose. But I can't. I couldn't have made that shot if I tried a hundred times. So I'll have to take the 1 time I did it by luck, and be happy with that.

Closed beta - back before HSR so you have to lag-shoot mechs. A raven ran past me for cover. I "flicked" an AC20 round out of my Yen-Lo-Wang. Nailed him perfectly rear CT. That bird crumbled.

Right after the Marauder released. Mid game, can't remember the name but htat annoying *** snow map with the huge gulch in the middle where certain death awaits... **** that I stayed up top in my BHII /w 7 mediums and an AC20. about half the teams (both ) are down and I'm one of the only heavies left. Up on my left sneaks an atlas, a mostly orange / yellow or better armored atlas... I turn and while walking / turning / aiming / firing catch him right in the cockpit (which clearly had taken some previous damage) putting him down. best shot I've made to date.
