I like the idea of personalizing the mech very much but the current cost in both XP and C-bills seems to be too high for every player, both newbies who want to try new mechs and veterans with 200+ mechs.
I really like the build diversity and experimenting with mech and the skill tree is killing it. I think after research we should have the node permanently available and should be limited only with pull of 91 points. So if we want to do a full respec of the mech we can use for free all the nodes we unlocked and simply pay for the ones with dont have. And when we want to go back to the old build we simply press respec button and choose all the old nodes and pay for it nothing but time.
Other thing that the skill tree kills is the diversity in builds. So if I want to have an AC, pair of SRMs and a couple of medium lasers I need to give up on infowar, mobility or tankiness, while simple boating allows me to max the efficiency of boated weapon as well as all the other important stuff.
Another small thing that irritated me is the 1/2t AC20 ammo that is probably never gonna be used by anyone. I tested on PTS that magazine size node indeed gives you 8 rounds for 1t of AC20 ammo but still only 3 for 1/2t! This really needs to be fixed.
What I liked is that we can finally see the structure points in mechlab. However I would like the skill tree to round the bonus values, so with +10% we dont need exactly 80 armor to get +8 points, but only 75.
I guess thats all for now.
