The way we have to spec mechs now forces us to pick a considerable amount of completely useless nodes in order to get useful ones. Why should I unlock so many <arm dexterity> nodes in order to get <torso dexterity nodes> on a mech that has no weapons in the arms?

Let's just do away with the bad ones then. Then reduce overall points.

I have not tried the PTS yet and was curious about this. So you can or can not go back up a skill tree from lower nodes? Essentially, could you make a U turn on the skill tree to avoid certain skills?

If on my Griff -2N with no arm mounted weapons, Id pretty much stay away from upper mech tree, but if Im in a laser Nova it sounds like a pretty good one to max out.

Lights will need to max out the entire mobility tree to get their speed back. It wouldn't be so bad if speed tweak 5 meant "Speed Tweak 5" instead of just the fifth speed tweak on the tree. In order to unlock all of them I need nodes I don't want.
