As far as node placement I would probably be happy enough if we got something like ~5 (per mech) "skip" a node place holder options. I mean, among other things, the last thing I want on some of my mechs is faster arm movement.

91 skill points is a massive amount.
If it stays at that many, then I don't mind picking up some bonus skills just to complete another.
However, this many skills really feels like there are no hard choices and I think a smaller pool with more skills to pick from would create more diversity.
In that scenario having streamlined skill paths would be simpler.
