the key concept about omni mechs is versatility. taking stuff out, putting other stuff in in a matter of seconds. rebuild a mech into something completely different ? no problem.
at least until now.

this skill tree excuse is taking the omni out of 140 of my mechs. completely.
the high price compared to IS mechs is no longer justified.
the point of having omni mechs is no longer justified.

that and i dont want to spend the better part of all my evenings for the next 3 weeks after release respeccing every single mech to somthing inferior to what it was before that joke. just to respec them over and over again whenever i switch modules.

that is so 2469 technology wise that even the mackie looks like an improvement.

I think you mean Clam Battlemechs are broken on the PTS
Best robots in the game getting half decent weapon quirks.

As for your post, it is misguide
Clams are no more expensive than a properly built Spheroid mech.
An Omni mech should not be superior to Battlemechs for balance reason (and they certainly are not, VS optimal BM)

Price wise, there does need to be a change

easy fix... allow us Clanners to LOCK our omnipods in place to turn it into a battlemech. For a nominal fee of course.

upside, it unlocks internals, armour, structure, heatsinks, jumpjets and engine customisation,

downside, it's irreversible.

Two effects, encourages us to purchase multiple omnimechs... makes us invest in our mechs and its skills... and is lore friendly and super immersive :)
