The Tacticon B-2000 Battle Computer is a modified version of the standard Sensor suite found in the Head component of most 'Mechs. As with the Life Support system and the Cockpit, the standard Sensor suite is a piece of Fixed Equipment; it takes up 0 usable slots and weighs 0 tonnes.
The Sensor suite is what allows your 'Mech to use its standard targeting abilities.
The B-2000 Battle Computer is a special version of this standard Sensor suite, and is currently exclusive to the Cyclops chassis. It replaces the standard Sensor suite, takes up 0 usable slots, and weighs 0 tonnes.
The B-2000 Battle Computer provides the following benefits, on top of the standard abilities of the basic Sensor suite:
• Boosts the standard Sensor Range of the Cyclops 'Mech.
• Boosts the standard Sensor Range of any ally 'Mechs within radius of the Cyclops.

Why indeed.
It's standard practice for MWO that most of the relevant information is found in old patch notes. Though maybe you can press Escape to get information about the HUD? Haven't tried that with the Cyclops icon.

No other chassis has this sort of team buff. Night Gyrs and the Battlemaster hero are not affected by ambient heat. I believe that's it as far as unique traits.

Stormcrows have uniquely broken hitboxes, making them tanky AF.
I'd count that as a special trait, too.

(No whining here. I perceive that while both shooting them and piloting them)

I wouldn't call it broken, it just has funky arms that catch a LOT of fire, especially when you slap the... "special" hand actuators on there.

The Executioner, Shadow Cat and the Kodiak Hero I think have MASC (Miomer accelerator signal circuitry) that can make them go alot faster for a short time, but has a chance to burn their legs. Its a great ability to have, veeeery useful..

Man...I hope Anderson doesn't get KO'd this weekend. Then again, he survived against Cormier at 200...
Hilarious that people have to come to the forums to find out about stuff in game.

It would be cool to see him retire on a win, but the MMA gods are unforgiving and cruel.
