Pls make consistent.
It needs to benefit at least to machine guns (There is not a single buff for MGs in the tree atm) and more important AMS!!!
I would also like to see it contruibute to all missiles.

Indeed. Either make it a skill in the Autocannon tree at the bottom or make it an "for all weapons" skill.

machine Guns + AMS, yes. They are projectile weapons, ammo for those comes in magazines.

Missiles in Magazines? No, sorry.

you got a point there, but I would really like to have something like that. Perhaps an own node for missle ammo?

I still don't get what magazines actually does. Does that value they increase the amount of ammo per ton, add ammo per weapon, the number of tons per weapon? What does it do?

It adds ammo per ton. I tried it on my LB10x with 4 tons of ammo, the nod says +3 for LB10x, my ammo is now 92 rounds instead of 80

Yes, it adds more ammo per equipped ammo slot. in other words more ammo per slot and ton.

Now, I sometimes run 4x U-AC and a lot of ammo to be sure not to run out of it. And when I meet someone with 6x U-AC, they'll in 80% of games run out of ammo and die as result. And their total damage dealt is lower too.
(I tend to observe and check scores of people who play similar stuff as I do.)

This node makes those 6x U-AC boats quite better. But is even better for me while carrying more boxes.
As for sample: C-U AC/5 had 60 ammo per box. 70 with bonus. Thats 16.7% bonus.
Carrying 6 Boxes with this nodes gives same ammo as if I had 7. So node saves 1slot and 1ton per 6 ammo box.

Biggest improvements is for Gauss Ammo as it moves from 10 to 12 (20%). But people are actually not carrying 5 Gauss ammo boxes to see that boost.

And I tested it:
6x C-U AC/2 + 7 boxes * 85 rounds = 595 rounds => 1190 maximum deliverable damage => took 120 seconds to shoot it all due to excessive heat => 9.92 sustained dps
4x C-U AC/5 + 10 boxes * 70 rounds = 700 rounds => 3500 maximum deliverable damage => took 150 seconds to shoot it all due to lower fire rate (But nearly no heat problems) => 23.3 sustained dps
- so, my result is that bad ideas (made for sake of cool look/feel) are still bad ideas
- Tested on Daishi: My original setup had 2x C-ER PPCs as backup... not anymore as one burst eats 38% of heat capacity without any upgrade to cooling, and 35% of heat capacity with all upgrades and heatsinks in place

It is name, but it has description too:
"Increases ammo capacity for ballistic weapons."

Sentence contains two very specific keywords:
AMMO => Ammo does not equal missile. (if we excuse lack of military terminology knowledge in many computer games)
"BALLISTIC WEAPONS" => here it is bit harder and one can quite successfully argue that missile behavior is part of ballistics science even as none of the missiles in game have trajectory nor behavior of ballistic missiles

Maybe node should be named: "Improved storage of ammunition and missiles." followed by proper description.
But till then I'll keep logic of AMS + machine gun being only missing upgrades for this node.

But, Yes I agree that if node boosted both cannons and missile weapons, it would promote hybrid weapons builds tiny bit more.
What would promote them even more would be one common weapon tree giving bonuses to things all weapons share (even if thee would be bit larger).
And sub trees for each weapon boosting only that one or two unique property required for given weapon.
