Currently, it costs roughly 56,000 XP to master a Mech. It costs roughly 126,000 XP to elite 2 and master one, if you only care about the cost to get a specific Mech mastered.
In terms of C-Bills, the current equivalent is the price of modules. A full set of modules could cost anywhere from 10M C-Bills (if you have only 1 Mech Module slot and you get the cheapest modules) to 24M C-Bills (if you have 2 Mech Module slots and get the most expensive modules). In general, you're looking at probably an average of 15M per Mech that you fully module out.
The obvious caveat here is that you can swap modules in the current system, whereas you are locked in the new system.
The new system, as probably 99.99999% of the people reading this know, has removed the rule of 3. The currently proposed numbers are 136,500 XP and 9.1 million C-Bills to master each Mech (not variant, each specific Mech). That is cheaper per completed Mech, but more expensive if you are module swapping. It will then cost roughly 25,000 C-Bills or 10 MC to remove any points you wish to respec, and 100,000 C-Bills to re-apply the point, for 125,000 C-Bills per point you respec. A full respec would either be 11.4 million C-Bills or would be 910 MC and 9.1 million C-Bills.
This has obviously stirred up a lot of people, myself included. My question here is: what costs would you consider acceptable? This isn't the ideal (I bet 99.99% consider free to be the best option). It's what you consider fair, and what you would be willing to pay, keeping in mind what things cost now and what you think they should cost.

The initial costs for mastering a mech are just fine. Reasonable even as there are no modules to buy. The fact that it costs anything to respec irritates me. No XP, no c-bills, nothing. Once I buy a module, do I have to pay to move it to another mech?
Edit: I saw this on another thread.
91 drops to skill up each mech, 120 mechs, 10,920 battles,10 mins per battle, 1,820 hours or over 75 days of 24 hr grinding...
Nice...
At my current rate of maybe 2 battles per day on average that's me finished skilling up in 15 years, assuming I never buy another mech ever again.
15 f*cking years!
I have changed my mind. What he says makes sense. The current mastering costs are too high. (assuming an average of 100k income per match)

The cost of "tech upgrades" (heck, those are not skills by any standart) should be above the average cost to outfit the mech. It is a next layer above it and should give less ruturns for the same costs. Some kind of upgrades balance seen in many games for decades (look at Starcraft 1 or Warcraft upgrades prices and thier returns).

Don’t make mastering chap overall. But make ‘basicing’ free in CBs! Let the last levels pay for the first ones.
