Well with this iteration of the skill tree we would see the complete demise of customization to mech loadouts. You want try a lazer build on your favorite AC loaded and leveled Warhammer? Just piss away 9.1 m cbills first to respec... Not happening.

Every mech I ever level and build going down this road would be pulled form a Meta build list and I would never have any desire to change its loadout again.

Whats is my favorite aspect of this game currenlty? Why is experimenting with new and different load outs...

Kill joy.

Agreed.

This new system seems to be made more for the purchase of mech bays to hold copies of your favorite mech so you do not have to respec every time you want to try something new.

Bottom line.
IMO
This new system is all about generating real money. Not balancing anything out.

Well, fully respecing 91 points is 91 * 25k + 91 * 100k = 11.375 million.

Just enough to buy new mech and put points into it instead, as now you have additional mech and that works like "Swap build button" :D

j/k ... myself ... *making sad face*

But on real side, usual respec will be around 5~10 points within same weapon tree or up to 25 points to move into different tree. But in the end it is better "not to take any weapon nodes".
Get stuff around and have weapon universal mech. So instead of having META builds for game, there will be META "economical builds" not requiring respec.

And experimentation will go out of window.
