What percentage of your games would you say are against enemy teams with similarly sized (or bigger) premade groups?

Vs the percentage of enemy teams comprised of mostly PUGs and solo players?

I'd be interested to know, thanks.

I couldn't give a percentage. Really just depends on who is dropping. Some nights we hit nothing but groups. Some nights we hit nothing but pugs. Some nights it is a mix. I'm still waiting on that toggle feature though, the one talked about in the first round table before 4.1. The one that groups could toggle stating that they would be willing to wait on another roughly equal size group to be paired against. Seems that got lost in the shuffle somewhere.

We hardly ever have more than 4 online at time lately. Although in fairness, I rarely run into an actual unit of 4 or more either. There are a number of mixed groups using the same TS grouped but they aren't running coordinated decks usually. Most matches have been pretty competitive. Although people may have different experiences based on the times they drop.

Problem with the question its very hard to tell if they other teams is a premade or not. Only time you can tell is if they're all in the same unit but most premade teams are not in the same unit.

I would have to guess and say atleast 50% of the time its a 6+ man team. But only 10% of the time is it a same unit team.

Your question is relevant, but don't discount it by looking for data through replies in the forums. Ask PGI for the data. It may be useful in developing the next phase of FP. Maybe someone from the square table can ask for it if they have direct contact with an entity at PGI?

True. I'm fine if people only answer for the instances when they are fairly sure, because they have the same unit tags.

As you say, they could be larger groups.

FWIW, I see 4-7 mans on the enemy team - based on verifiable unit tags alone - probably 66% of the time.

80% of my CW drops last night were against groups and the best drops.

1 was against nothing but LRM, Gauss/PPC Pugs. They were very upset they had to fight and loose.

1 was against against PUGs that made effort as a group with first time caller. Went as expected, however, were informed by the first time caller he was new and gave it a shot this time near the end of the match. The fight was about over, so we took the remaining time to offer advice, pointed out a few mistakes and a couple things that worked for them.

I dont care if it is PUG or Group, I just want a good fight. I do not want to roll and I do not want to get rolled. The best fights are those where people work as a team, win or loose. Work as a team and you will do better. Do not or refuse to work as a team and you will not.

Out of last 10 drops, 60% had a group of 5+, so roughly same

Less than half the matches are teams.

I play US and Oceanic mostly. I can usually work out if against a team or not by the players. I know the majority, who plays with who etc. Either way uts not high and there are not a lot of large groups getting around, even more so midweek.

It's rare to see a 8+ team either side. I rarely drop as 12 unless it's with my unit.

I drop on Star League/FRR/Kurita hub, and depending on the time of day it's almost always as a 12-man, and basically always 8+. How often we run into groups depends mostly on what time of day it is, around primetime we run into 6+ unit drops maybe 30% of the time. Some days the units roll deep and that's most of what we get. Lately it's been a lot of pugs/skittles. Can only assume that's due to a lot of the merc units rolling IS?

i kind of have been pushing for unit rivalries and an honor system. the former is pretty much just a match scheduling feature so units can do batchalls against eachother. meaning fewer games against pugs. in exchange they get more points towards planet capture, and possibly better rewards. then on top of that throw betting of unit assets on the outcome of the match to make it interesting. the latter is really just bonuses for opting to use less tonnage, or fewer waves. and in exchange for that more points to planet capture, and better rewards. this makes the games against inferior teams a little more challenging for the groups and a little less stompy for the pugs. i cant imagine 12 mans having any objections to either of those.

the toggle thing i dont know how that would work. would a 12 man who opted in automatically drop against a casual 12 man who did not opt in? would both teams have to opt in? and would teams still use pug farming as a tactic to win planets. i can imagine a unit who really wanted a planet wouldn't use the opt in because it would slow down their drop rate and put them at a disadvantage. so opting in would have to come with rewards similar to those in my ideas. 2-3x more points towards planet capture would sweeten the deal. on the other hand if wait times are so long that people dont use it, then it doesn't really accomplish anything.

Technically something like that could still actually work, because it was kind of the original basis for FW, but never came to be (mostly because PGI probably didn't really explore the idea enough).

The idea is to be able to fight against other units... similar to league play, but in a different environment that doesn't actually involve a private lobby (because money/profits).

The idea that you could bid team sizes (maybe maps or things that would be good for a batchall) or something along those lines would get people (particularly comp units, but also casual units) to play against each other for a purpose.

Too bad that's a lot of Lostech.

Man I think that is going to be tough to quantify.

Different days and different times etc...

Last night I would say it was about 2/3rds of the time but I wouldn't say that was common. More likely to see other units in 4 or more maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of the time usually.
