It's off center, but here is the concept behind it.

The left side of the tree is for mostly brawler/infighter builds. Get in range, quickly figure out the weak points you need to focus on, maintain info even if they get behind you for a couple of seconds, get off radar before the rest of the team turns on you.

The right side is mostly for ranged builds (sniper and LRM). Better sensor range, and additional target time when out of LOS. Zoom still where it was before.

Prized Seismic (some call OP) is locked behind 7 SP spent on on other skills. Enhanced ECM locked behind 6-7 SP spent on other skills. Also, Radar Deprivation requires 5 SP spent on other skills to unlock fully.

Might require dropping available SP to 86 or 88, but better than making people waste SP (and associated XP and CBills) on skills they don't want.

Edit: Fixed left/right.

Not bad. What was your rationale for putting advanced zoom on the right side if that side is geared more for close range builds?

Im not fond that you HAVE to get radar dep in order to get seismic, but other than that it looks fine.

It feels like it should require target info gathering or retention

Mixed up my left/right. Thanks for catching that. Zoom can be put on either side. I just keep it locked as far deep as PGI original as they might have reasoning to do that. I figure it is more in line with those that don't need Target info before taking a shot. The two skills it is locked under are complimentary to it's purpose, ranged engagements.

This looks much more thought out than PGI's original plan.

Adding another tree suggestion to this one.(so not adding to the 19 pages of topics) - Suggestion for Mech Operations tree. Basically the same idea, group everything together instead of all over the place. No having to unlock Hill Climb 1&2 to get the other skills.

Now, this tree is open for adjustment. The Hill Climb and Speed Retention can move up so they can be unlocked without unlocking so many others. Also, I think either Cool Run or Heat Containment should be in the center instead of Quick Ignition. Therefore requiring more unlocks to get a more desired skill. Personally, I would unlock all three on most of my mechs. But some may prefer to save their SP on builds that they know run fairly cool, but want full Quick Ignition in case they do overheat. Magazine Capacity kept where it was before.

Again as stated in the original post, available SP can be adjusted downward to compensate for not having to spend SP/CBills/XP on skills they don't want.
