These three trees contain the 12 skill nodes that map to the current skills in the existing system. There seems to be a large amount of amount of consensus that most people are going to take the entire Lower Chassis and Mech Ops trees as part of any build that they do. My suggestion is to take all of those skills and bundle them together and spread them over 10 tiers instead of the current 5. As these skills would mimic the current tree the amount of CBills and XP needed to unlock them would be lower to keep the XP costs in line with current tree. The Mech Ops branch also contains 4 new skill nodes and those would be spread out among the higher tiers. The new tree would be linear and look like the folloiwing:
  • All tiers would have the 12 skill nodes that map to the old tree and each tier would be half of the values in the current PTS. Those skill nodes would cost 0.5 skill points, 500xp, and 12,500 CBills.
  • Tiers 4-10 would include one of the 4 extra skill nodes at an extra cost of 1 Skill point, 1500XP, and 100,000 CBills
  • Tiers 1-3 would cost 6 Skill points, 60,000 XP, 150K CBills
  • Tiers 4-10 would cost 7 Skill points, 61,500 XP, 250K CBills

So to unlock the equivalent of old Mastered tree plus the 4 extra skills it would take 67 skill points, 70,500 XP and 2.2mil CBills. This would create a trade off in trying to max out the old skills and force some choices on the remaining skills that you can take from the other trees.

Those trees are awfully designed in general and would benefit from the healthy practice of being scrapped and reconsidered from the ground up.
