While it's understandable what you are aiming for here but...

This is the forum of a online PVP multiplayer shooter. If someone calls someone else out for something, even though it was entirely uncalled for and objectively wrong, he has to expect people checking his available stats, and criticize his ability to judge the game based on his stats.

If you sh*t infront of someone else door on the internet without any reason at all, you gotta be prepared for a big heap of sh*t infront of your door aswell.

You don't need to be a pro, but you better understand the very basic principles of the subject you are criticizing. You don't need to be Michael Jordan, but you should have enough knowledge about basketball to make an objective critique.

The OP though? He is more like the guy who never played or watched a single game of ball in his life and then tries to be all smart about it.

IF it's relevant to the argument at hand. For example, if I say, "I can pwn you anyday, I'm a better player than you." Than it's legitimate to pull up both of our stats to see who is actually objectively better.

I don't see how pulling up his stats actually objectively prove whether the point is valid.

And just because someone never saw a game of basketball doesn't mean they can't make valid observations. If a player is getting outplayed, it's legitimate observation to say "oh he's getting pwned." Look, if this video isn't theb33f, there's still a HEAP of legitimate criticism against the OP's observations and conclusions.

For one, theb33f was in a locust. And that should be the end of that.

My point is, rather than going after these very legitimate points, you guys go after his stats. Is there a line in the sand where you can't criticize if you are under a certain KDR or WLR? Do you need to be above 1? 1.5? 2? 5? To me, that's just petty especially when the OP went after a public domain video, not another specific user. Whereas you guys went after a user, not the comments he published on a public domain forum.

So explain to me again, how does one's KDR relate to whether one can correctly call whether someone's hiding or not? However, OP's rant with specific false observations is direct evidence that he's not capable to correctly make the call.

Been a fun watch.

Why I pulled his stats out is because he's acting like he's the go to authority for squad tactics. Like meteorol said, if you're gonna do this

Posted Image

you need to put your money where your mouth is.

He didn't make a general post about the behavior, but called out a specific person.

Also the fact that the stats is public in the first place, posting it here makes no difference. I'm just saving the others some time of searching for it themselves.

https://mwomercs.com...0&user=MrMadguy

I didn't doxx him, but just posted an already public data. I didn't call him a potato. I didn't call him a noob. I said his stats are bad. The first two is an insult, the last one is a statement of fact. The post was made not to shame him but to point out that he's not an authority to bow down to. If you didn't think that his stats was relevant, then other people can have different opinion. I for one think that it is very relevant, and lots of others too.

I didn't point out his KDR, I pointed at his WLR first, which is the best metric for player skill since KDR and Match Score can be farmed. That's the best indicator of player skill.

It is relevant at the topic at hand, his post can be summarized as "People who's not playing like I me are bad, and I report them at the end of the match and I even used Global chat for that". Like what Tarogato said, OP can't read a match properly and Numbers I posted prove it. Being bad at the game doesn't justify dismissing his points immediately true. That's why we didn't do that, we expounded why his points are wrong (see the posts before I posted his stats) and why he's not qualified to contest why his points are wrong(his stats).

Numbers are useful because these are facts, not opinions. Results show what anecdotes don't. I can claim all day that I can do 360 no--advanced-zoom no-hud headshots but then would you believe me without proof?

Well, in point of fact... a Light should NOT be able to go TOE TO TOE with an Assault.

They should be able to use their speed and agility to hit, run, strafe, etc and have a good chance of success, though. But stuff like just run in a circle around an Assault, or do some of the ridiculous charges Oxides have done, etc? Not so much. (Unless the Assault Jock is the OP, at which point you might be able to just park your locust and win, looking at the stats)

I say this, because Lights aren't really meant to go toe to toe with anything, but to flank, sow chaos, hit and run, and be pests, vultures, nuisances, and opportunistic little ******** (like B33F was), and take advantage of isolated mechs to hit, run, and hit again from another angle.

And if you play that way, have situational awareness, Lights (even me in my LoLust) can have an impact.

I am in no way best Light driver, but very proud of my Top Score in my Unit for Lights.

Will be looking for the OP to circle strafe him to full blown foaming at the mouth nerd rage in my LoLcust.

Another video. This is actual skill on display. Group queue I know but still, dem group tactics.

This is one of my favorites, just for the urban legend (*cough*, I mean real animal!) reference. Ironically, in most stories, it seems like the drop bear is actually less deadly than half of the other animals on the continent. Seriously, that place is where you go if you want to be "the most dangerous game."

Also, this is how easy it is to kill a light:

It's because the OP makes these kinds of posts again and again. He tries to make points that are so unfounded and obviously false over and over. To the point that everybody just facerolls their keyboard in frustration. He never seems to notice that nobody ever agrees with him. He's probably a troll that's just trying to get a rise out of people. And if that's his intent, he's very good at it. But it's also exceedingly likely that he's sincere, and just doesn't understand what is going on around him in this game.

He's the same guy that, as far as I'm aware, perpetuates the "light mechs OP" mantra, and then goes to admit he only plays assault mechs and only in stock configurations. Which hamstrings the entirety of his hopelessly anecdotal argument. But he keeps arguing it and refuses to accept that he himself is the problem. So here we are again, trying to remind him his place in the game in the faintest hope of helping him to understand that he doesn't exhibit the merest requisite competence to make any of the claims or arguments he purports as being valid concerns. We hope that maybe he'll see his folly, and either stop posting, or actually put forth the effort to be at least an average player in this game.

But he probably won't, because he's likely a troll just trying to get a rouse.

Firestarter. XL engine, rear. Was already mandarin orange beforehand.

Actually, it still would have died in that situation even if it were 100% fresh. 20 pinpoint would be enough to drill though 16 structure, plus up to maybe even 4-6 rear armour depending on critical rolls.

well, he also was not moving near top speed... which means he already broke the cardinal rule of being a Light (or he had a real small engine for some dumb reason).

I'd be more impressed on seeing video of a person doing the same scenario, repeatedly, against a healthy Lolcust, not being derp piloted.

I mean people have pulled that same scenario off on Heim and Proton too (I know cuz the last time I killed Heimdelight... like.. over a year a go, lol, that is close to what happened... back shot on a him after he took some serious damage. Yay me! I'm so Meta now!)... find them super damaged and pull off a shot that kills them.... I guess that proves Heim and Proton die real easy?
