I have 43k GXP which took a few weeks to get, but that’s OK because they feel meaningful in the current system. I could unlock a few modules, which cost around 5 – 17.5 k GXP, and use them on all my Mechs. In the new system it costs 91x1.5k=136.5k XP to master a single mech. To do that with GXP would mean many month of grinding.
The possibility to convert MXP in GXP feels like a joke in the new system. In the current system converting the GXP for one Module would cost 200 – 700 MC (5,000/25 – 17,500/25). Converting GXP to master one Mech in the new System would cost 5,460 MC (136,500/25) which is about 25$.
GXP feels like a forgotten leftover in the new system and could as well get removed, because it doesn’t feel useful at all.

I admit, GXP does make me a bit sad as well. But think of it as a handy reserve in the new system. Armor against sudden meta changes as it were. Keeping C-Bills in reserve is easy enough, but having reserve XP ready for whatever happens? That will be pretty handy.
