Why doesn't MWO have MRM which would have a range of 500m .Would have its weight damage heat between SRM and LRM . A good midrange brawler

"Midrange" and "brawler" don't mix well.

We'll probably get MRMs soon with the timeline advance

The current timeline for the game ends at around 3055 (Though it's a bit fuzzy). MRMs are not introduced until 3058.

In a couple months, the time frame of the game is jumping to about 3068, at which point MRMs have a decent chance of being released.

You need to think how those missiles can reliably hit a moving 'Mech at medium range.

Preferably not lock-on, also MRMs are supposed to be dumb fired missiles.

I'm not worried about their medium range ability - I'm worried how they'll function at point blank range.

They can indeed do nasty things provided that all the missiles come out at the same time.

Even if you need a second to vomit them all out in streamfire... it will be glorious Posted Image

(but it is one of the weapons I am pretty sure are not going to be included Posted Image )

PGI could make them do no damage under 90 meters, like PPC.

To include them and then to make them borderline unusable would open a saltmine of epic proportions. And for the love of god, please stop giving them such ideas Posted Image

Would be nice to have this in game.

If point blank is an issue they can reduce damage at closer ranges, and/or simply reduce the damage ratio per ton compared to SRMs, and/or increase missile dispersion.

I personally think it would be a great addition to the game, liven things up without being overpowered as weapons in the game has been overly stale for a long time.

If you ask me, MRM's make SRM's obsolete (they did this for me in previous games), especially Streak MRM's...

It's easy. Make SRMs DPS weapons and MRMs high burst low DPS weapons with extended range.

Sure you get the high burst from MRMs but do you really want to wait on a 6 second cooldown in the middle of a brawl, or are you going to want the 3 second cooldown weapon with less heat and much tighter spread, and assuming they make MRMs stream fire like it has been suggested, the weapon with front-loaded damage?

Streak MRMs do not exist
