Radar deprivation and map knowledge. Both cost zero tons and are better than AMS. Yes, even on polar highlands.

My Kitfox with three AMS, empowered by overload, and ECM suite is also far better than having both Radar deprivation and map knowledge! Posted Image

In seriousness, unless I play lights and assaults, I sometimes even skip radar deprivation. You just know where are the hard cover and... map knowledge in general.

1. I prefer to use that weight to increase my firepower

2. If I see [incoming missile] I immediately hug a building or worst case scenario an assault mech (sorry)

Don't forget ablative cover too... also known as taller mechs.
