Making them easier to hit will force them to play smart like other lights, and boosting their strength will allow them to survive a mistake and a few good hits but ultimately give them a shorter lifespan in a 1v12 situation because they cant exploit ludicrously unbelievable direction changes.

This is very true. I have sometimes ended a match with 6 ******* damage done because I was out scouting, working around the enemy flank, or headed out to cap a point/chase what I thought was a lone mech off a point and rounded a corner to find something like a Streakdog/Splatdog staring right at me, or said Streakdog/Splatdog was the one lone mech at that cap (and I wasn't able to catch him off guard), or something similar. **** happens, and in a light mech there are rarely second chances.
Locust is not ******* OP. If you are an assault/heavy driver in a situation where a facehugging/anklebiting Locust is going to kill you and you can't hit it back, you have already made multiple grave errors. Where the **** are your teammates and why aren't you with them, for one?
You're completely wrong but okay.

If I want to play a mech to easily get around on the map while dishing out top damage and being harder to kill than an Atlas, I play a light mech.
Please get real. Lights are in no bad spot. The only bad thing about them is that they are very limited when it comes to viable loadouts. They are either weak or OP and very mech/variant dependant.
Lights also miss variation. Most of the viable loadouts can be used with a large number of light mechs, or they are limited to a few very special variants . So you don't really have to get another mech to play with that loadout. (If you get what I mean)
Hardpoint locations don't make too much difference either, which isn't the case for other weight classes.
So, while the number of my medium/heavy/assault mechs is about equal, the number of lights I run is almost half that ammount, simply because it makes no sense to have so many similar mechs.

If you don't want to do your job as light, stop playing one.
Because these things ARE a lights job. And you're just hurting your team and yourself if you go full ego-mode in a teamgame.
Don't expect a 100t assault or even a heavy to be able to avoid running into you when you dash around a corner. They don't have the maneuverability, you have it.
Scouting is the first thing I do when playing any fast mech. Because I want to know where the enemy is and where I want to be when the teams collide.
Don't want to help your fatties against the lights who take them appart? Feel free to get vaporized by the enemy team once they are done destroying your teams firepower.
And getting shot in the back by idiots who want a kill, is not a light thing. I've seen it happen the other way around more than enough.
But, if you don't want to scout, don't want to be near your team and don't want help your team fighting...what are you even doing the whole match?
Yes, I might sound a bit harsh, but blaming heavies and assaults for your own shortcommings, won't get you far.
You will always have to deal with bad behaviour and stupid mistakes no matter which weight class.

And I do wish that heavies and assaults could make physical attacks against lights that basically ram you and stick like glue because you cannot shoot low enough to hit them.

And also explain, please, why terrible heavy and assault pilots should get an auto-win vs all lights regardless of being good or bad? Do you think this is balanced? (Pro tip: if you are so hopeless vs lights there is a weapon system which counters the whole class - streaks) )
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Typical light hacker/exploiter response expected it and no where in lore or any other Previous BattleTech or MechWarrior game but MWO have lights been able to solo even 55 ton mechs period.
And no assault heavy pilots should never get a auto win but exploiting light pilots should not ether.

God I hate you whiny heavy/assault drivers.
And that's why I'm taking a break from my heavies, seeing to many bad heavies and assault pilots just made me sick of my own heavies. Espically when I see horrible TBR builds 2xlrm20, uac2, and 2erll wtf is this.

And here we see the complaints of someone who needs to git gud, and actually hit those small targets
You see, when you hit a 28 HP leg with 50 damage, it gets destroyed.
When you splash that 28 HP leg with 5 swathes of 2 damage, it does not get destroyed.

They can't, unless the Reds went FULL POTATO
Any competent pilot can deal with Lights, almost universally.
They have so little HP, any concentrated fire will cause them to melt. It's just the Potatos (such as yourself, by Mecha Cthulhu, HOW do you get under 200 average damage?!) who have issues with them.

If you can't play nice, don't expect people to be complacent with you
Your theory doesn't fit our reality, in Shooty Stompy Robots
Generally speaking, bigger is better (though Heavy is often optimal)
Lights always have the short straw

Apparently one has to be super scrubby to not even consider easy-mode Streaks.
It only takes a Lolcust to fart in the face of an Assault to get rekt, but aiming is too hard and obviously Lostech.

Because I cannot physically shoot them. LOLcust VS Kodiak is one of those situations (If you're a PokeBear, you have the PPCs, but not DakkaBear).

Well, that's all they have.
It's probably why the Atlas gets backraged in by the 3 second Jenner. Our balance overlord's paperdoll gets violated often.

I frequently play a CERML Cheetah. Over and over and over again, I'll sneak my way behind enemy lines, shoot someone square in the back and watch them turn around, look behind them for 2 or 3 seconds, then go right back to what they were doing. Then I shoot them in the back again and they die, usually cursing about broken hitreg causing front on shots to damage the rear (lolololol).
Had one match last night where I killed 4 enemy mechs in the space of just 2 or 3 minutes. They were engaged in a fight with the rest of my team and were camping in the underside of Crimson. I was standing 400m behind them, barely moving at all and just popping them in the back 1 by 1. Pretty sure I did 800 damage and still finished the game with 100% health.
Another example was with a Centurion. Shot him square in the rear CT twice before he finally found me. He started chasing, we ran around in circles shooting at each other for a bit, then I ran behind a building....and he immediately stopped chasing me and turned to go back to what he was doing. I shot him in the back and he died.
Come on people!

40 pinpoint damage > light mechs
This isn't an attempt to show off, mind you-- lights really need help. There's not much to applaud over one shotting lights. Their quirks are the weakest across the board, their firepower is limited, their sustain is too short, and after rescale many are just too easy to pick apart with pinpoint and pulse lasers.
Lol, you had to pick THAT game, didn't you!!
I'd had a string of good games in my locust, and then in that game I made the rookie mistake of standing still to shoot a UAV.
Double gauss in the back.
End of game :-D

"Keeping" a light in front of you the whole time isn't required and all mechs can turn and twist fast enough to get any light under their crosshair.
The only physical effect we might get back would be collision.
At least this would reduce or eliminate the facehugger behaviour.
