I know it's far too soon to do this now, but when the game launches and/or during advanced open beta, it would be very nice if the community could gain access to high-res tactical maps of all maps available in the game, as well as high-res 'Mech datasheets and weapon statistics in the form of blueprints and csv files (database/Excel friendly).

Too many games don't provide this information (which can technically be created by the community itself, but which is rather laborious), and I find that sad. Whatever is not internal game mechanics (i.e. math formulas to calculate damage and armor penetration and such) and could be made safely public, should be, when the time comes.

Whether this data would be accessed through a controlled Web Service API or just be provided as raw csv data is entirely up to PGI.

A large portion of the BT community are geeks and number-crunchers (coming from the pen and paper version), and just LOVE to have access to that kind of info (me first).

Anyway, that's just my little geek wet dream...

As a man who is not a number cruncher, I want tweaks to have this so he can take it all in, eat it, digest it, then poop it out in a freindlier version so dumb people like me then can understand some of the formulas and stratagies better.

Not only that, but the data could be presented in-game in an in-universe style, like you were reading a company loud out sheet explaining the purpose, strengths, weaknesses, and history of the mech (Basically like a Sarna page).

In addition, if anyone has the Mechwarrior 2 manual, I imagine it would be presented similar to the way mech loud outs where presented in that. I also hope the game manual itself (if MWO does indeed have a game manual, even in .pdf form) is presented in the same manner. Oh man, it was so worth it to spend that extra 3 dollars on Mechwarrior 2 when I bought it off ebay. The manual is as much a labor of love as the game itself. You just don't see manuals like that anymore...

Would you not get this info from the TROs?

P.S. I have that Manual in .pdf. It was an amazing find. :) I love the mech formations e.g. Line Astern, Line Abreast etc. I would love to practice those.

Just had mine out the other night looking up something. I can't even remember exactly what now. Keyboard Command or something. The only other Manual that rivals this one is the MechCommander Manual. Full Color Mechs with Readouts. Sweeeeeet.

High Res Maps would be a treat for sure.

The TRO are not MWO. They might base themselves on it, but they may very well change a lot of stats in the process of balancing. I'm not only interested in the stats by the way, but in the updated visuals as well.

Search for "filetype:pdf codes and procedures of the warrior cast" (without quotes) in Google... you'll find it.
