2. There sorta is a game mode with a re-spawn already. It is called Faction Warfare. You get 4 mechs in your drop deck when you die you get re-dropped in with the next mech selected in your drop deck. Sadly though FW is still a broken game mode, but again hopefully PGI keeps to what they said and keep working to make it better.

LOL ... behold the clueless one. Pray tell us all plz how "comp players" killed something in terms of "Solaris events" when there was nothing to begin with. If it wasn't for "comp players" who keep bugging PGI for years to add stuff to the game all you'd ever had would be your precious broken FP and WannaBuyAMechPackTM.
@OP
Solaris themed maps already exist, you can check them out in the private lobby if you set mode to skirmish. PGI is probably going to add some sort of the Solaris game mode into the game at some point, but since its PGI you better prepare for a bit of a wait. As in a couple years wait, i.e. SoonTM.

No no, don't bring your stupid facts into this. This guy is clearly on his personal vendetta against evil competitive players and it is surprisingly amusing to guess what he is going to blame em for next. I bet that dam in California and famine in Africa are also comp players fault. For now lets stay quiet so he can hear some more of what voices in his head are going to tell him.

Well, it IS a player run, 1v1 Solaris Style event .
And yeah, it IS amazing PGi has not figured out a profitable way to implement 1v1 Duelling into the Game...league Style, Tourneys, etc . I mean, if its about cost....make the enrolling/pariticpating cost some MC ( PGI are SO geneour in handing out MC in events, even people who do not spend $$$ on the Game could afford that I guess - if done properly ) .
Ofc. it is kindof strange logic to make players responisble for a developer/publisher decision . And *hm*, playing "blame games"...idk, dont even want to comment that .

Then a joke was added to the private matches and called Solaris.
I've given up hope and closed my wallet permanently.
This should have been considered low hanging fruit and been one of the first things in the game. Lack of foresight on PGIs part. That it has never been implemented in 5 years show lack of competence in PGIs management.

In April (or maybe May) townhall, Russ stated that they were indeed working on Solaris. When there was a follow up (I believe in July) he said they were still working on it but they were having difficulty with the replay functionality, which is a function they thought absolutely necessary to a proper Solaris mode. NGNG guys did not follow up with any questions about it then, and I have no idea if they have since. But last I heard replay function was and still is the hold up...so if "we're working on it" back in May is compared to normal PGI statements of intent (best case comparison: see CW development for comparison; worst case: see assurances of rescale being a priority going back to 2013), then we still have at least another year until it actually comes into the game in some utterly odd format (that will undoubtedly lack a replay function). So Solaris isn't dead, its just being worked on by PGI.

Look CW was release in 2013 and look all the works they did bring to this game mode.
One year for dev long tom, another year for remove it lol.
Damn people always complain, buy some supernovas packs, support PGI and you will have solaris mode ( i promise ).... I am pretty sure in one year they may have enough time for rename "private lobby" in "Solaris mode" ggclose PGI.

If you want 1v1, there are privet matches for that.
If you want FFA, well you are out of luck.
If you want actual Solaris VII, we have that already, it's called quick play.
Don't know what I mean? Solaris VII is a gaming world where various stables (houses) would compete against one another for fame and C-bills. 1v1 was not the normal on Solaris VII, rather group battles were far more common. These battles took place in arenas that were limited in size, not unlike our quick play maps. These battles were pointless, as aside from some events they were mostly purely exhibition matches between the various stables.
