Finally a thread about my fav IS light. I advocate for the Flea.
People got their urbies (yeah yeah fan mascot and "joke" mech) so why not us wanting the Flea?? Also what about the Wolf's Dragoons people out there? Missing their beloved mass mech of annoyance Posted Image

There are enough differences between the Flea and Locust. Its ridiculous that some say they are too similar In apperance, well cant that work in some advantage? Also the Flea got bigger bite, higher mounts more weapons also the rescale may make it on par with the Locust in overall size, which is good! Though the Flea might be a bit harder to hit. It does have cons too, slower unless masced, but even then..

I want to buy whatever regarding the Flea. There are people in the community and PGI that want to see it alive and well. And so do I.

Im just quoting something Mark wrote in response to me some time ago in another thread:

For clarity:
There is no 3D model of the Flea at PGI sitting ready to be released.
There is a fan model, made by me, from before I started at PGI.
I've been rather vocal in that my reason for making that fan model was because I was AGAINST it's inclusion in the game, so please don't think I'm going to champion the cause.
However, I do recognize that some people want it, as do others at PGI.

Imagine a Flea & Locust company up against an Assault team. The little mechs pilots will make trollfaces all the way to Strana Mechty

So mend the broken link and have these fellas complement each other and make Assault pilots (including me) rip their hair out!

It won't add to diversity.

It looks like a locust and has basically the same build options.

That's why PGI hasn't wasted it's time with this mech.

Lets cut straight to the point. The FLE-15 is a worse LCT-3M. It trades superior hardpoint placement and engine cap for two ballistic hardpoints. Hardly a desireable exchange.

The other variants are junk and the likely hero variant, the Fire Ant will be locked behind a paywall. You don't even need a Fire Ant to machine gun troll if they add the Piranha.

Nobody should be nostalgic for the Flea, it was a super rare mech only used by the Dragoons. FASA was simply desperate to fill the emergency gap in lights caused by the unseen debacle. The trio of classic unseen "bug mechs" accounted for the vast majority of light combatants during the Succession Wars. The Flea is nothing.

That's exactly the problem: The Flea isn't different enough from the Locust to create meaningful diversity or difference between them. It's going to end up with both of them occupying the same role, with one of them being better at that role.
