The problem in this case, while you did very well, you need to build a monster killer rather than a DPS build. The DPS builds will help the team but only if they can take advantage and aim (or be in the right position).

With a killer load out, your kills will be going up and thus reducing the enemy team's damage output in the duration of the match. I've had to setup almost all of my mechs for the kill rather than DPS builds. It's annoying but it's the only way to help the team win. You'll probably see this is a common trend in T1 (high alphas and instant damage weapons).

I have fun in a losing game if I did my best while learning from it as well as if the game was a close match. I do not have fun in a losing game when 2-3 players go full potato and stop to snipe or launch LRMS in a parked position and then get waxed because they weren't keeping an eye on the rest of the group in using the mini map.

Advancing in force in a pick up match is always > your personal need to park a mech for over a full minute to launch attacks in the hope of something magical happening.

Personally, I keep it simple:

QP is for "I don't care, I'm having fun" play.

FW is for "OK, let's get serious and win this" play..

Simple as that.

Im enjoying any game, be that a loss or win, as long as it was a truly good and close / balanced game. I dont enjoy the usual stomps at all, not even on the winning side.

...seriously though there is a very high skill cieling and there is something you can be doing better if you think otherwise

"very high" is a bit overstated imo, perhaps it has a steap learning curve but to say mwo has a high ceiling... no where near quake levels!

Once you figured that you don't strafe but steer you are already half way, shooting mechanics aren't that complex either, your radar and target indicator points out most of the information you need... the only real difference that sets a good player apart from the average player is situational awareness, communication and organisation which are skills needed in just about any competitive game. In that regard more depends on just teamwork then on individual skill, it matters more what the other 11 are doing then what you alone can bring.
Granted, these skills make a lot of difference but a game (MWO) needs to provide more and more depth to put it in the top list of "very high skill ceiling" games.

I have a competitive mind set. and once you learn that "you can do everything right and still lose". you are a happier player :-D

this. a true high skill game would allow the player to make that much of a difference that you can dominate the whole round and be on top of everybody...

it is possible to enjoy a loss. and this is usually there is good sportsmanship all around. i dont have fun on those games where people are complaining about how the game is rigged or that their team sucked, hell even on a win those kind of games are buzzkill.

It is a Video Game. At least you get to try again after your Team dies. If playing a video game affects you beyond that, one should perhaps revisit ones priorities in life in general. ;)

I have fun as said, if I manage to do my best and/ or go out in a fantastic last ditch effort. Also some humorous moments can dampen the harsh "loss" feeling.

Is it a good fight? Did both sides scrap it out and get in each others faces? Or was it a raining sniper fest that's boring as stale turds?

If yes to the first two,yes I had fun. if no to the first two and yes on the last, then I hated it.

Coupled with the awful direction the maps have taken,it's often the last point that causes matches to be incredibly boring.

I never saw thsi question asked here before, so I though why not.

Mechwarrior Online is an Arcade Arena MP shooter with a very low skillcap and a high random randomness factor.

I have to say, the thing that makes me enjoy this game is because I don't give a damn.

I simply enjoy stompy robots shooting each other, as discuss before in the "are troll builds ok thread", I think if you try to play this game like Heartstone, CS oder LoL, you MUST get mad.

IF I would play thsi game like a serious competive title, I must confess I would get mad in the head (even more).

But as it is, I even enjoy most games I lose, I even enjoy some FW solo pugstomps, because of some random **** that happend or some crazy build I saw.

What do you feel about this?

I agree with you. This game doesn't require the same amount of skills as older games. I have fun win or lose because I don't consider this a "skilly" MW game. Usually the paywall Mechs have the advantage over Mechs bought with C-Bills. Add in quirks or skills, and the game offers alot of crutches for people whether bought or worked for.

I think we would see real skill if all Mechs were unlocked to everyone and weapons/equipment were free. Instead we pay for/grind out our Mechs like they are Diablo 2 characters. That's not skill.
