After looking at the game as is, with the 3 mech skill set system that everyone has been using for years, with the sets of mechs you buy, after watching all kinds of vids on the PTS, I've come to this conclusion regarding the new skill tree system:
Scrap it.
The game is better as is. This will wreck it. I don't mean to sound
melodramatic, but the new skill tree could kill the game. I like the
game we've been playing. I seriously don' want to spend another cent
on anything MWO until you figure out which game we'll be playing.

Would you have a problem with them keeping the current skill tree, but scrapping the requirement to have 3 variants of a chassis to move beyond basics?

I could get behind this Idea myself. I would have to say that an increase in the exp requirements would have to be raised a bit just to make it so easy to master any variant you choose too easy. I'd think that would be fair as long as the exp cost increase wasn't some enormous amount.

We've talked about a skill tree since before the game went live.
