There isn't a LOT of love for the Cicada and when there is, it is more for the 3M for it's ECM or the 2B with MPLasers. Give the me Cicada 2A with 6 MLasers any day. It's fast, agile, and it is an excellent poker or skirmisher. It is probably my favorite underrated mech.

Hunchback 4G
Vindicator
Dragon
Pre changes Locust was my favorite, now it's still fun don't get me wrong, but I feel bad when I run around with PBJ and abuse
Hmmm Clams don't really have any underloved but good mechs.
I guess Adder?
Sad Lynx. I liked it a lot,it's tons of fun with just an ERPPC and ECM.

Dragon 1C - I cram mine with 21x DHS, an XL 335, two ERPPC, and two MedLas. Excellent corner peaker and hill humper that can reposition and kite quite well. The rate of fire and sustain are noteworthy. Do not get caught in the open or its geo will kill you.
Shadowhawk 2H - this dakka boat will lay out a positively savage beating with its remarkable cooldown in combination with its available tonnage, hitboxes, and hardpoint locations. It is criminally overlooked.

Only underrated by taters now. Anyone who plays seriously knows its value.
It's up there, but there are still mechs I give a higher threat ranking too... I tend to combat them based what I see them actually pulling off....

Oh, it's not the best mech, but its days of being a secret are over.

Never really understood why people wrote it off, I'd seen what it could do first hand during my time with CGBI when I would drop with the comp team back then.... in the right hands it was a nasty little beast, in the hands of a potato... well not so much.

Yes. I liked it from release day. Took a couple years and quirks to catch on for most folks.

From what I've seen few people are actually able to see beyond what the the sheeple can....
Too bad, that a lot of people on MWO really are nothing more than:

Too many of them depend on metamechs....

I can see how people believe the Awesome is underappreciated. When they find the right build for it I'll forgive them.
Oh, I have the right build. Hence why I enjoy it, even with the travesty dynamic weapons have made of it's one glorious guns.
better question is what's up with the sad sack showings by the two KDK3s in your lance...holy hell. I mean one looks like he managed to vulture a bunch of kills.. but 400 dmg? Okey dokey then.

Wolverines (especially 7K for me), ditto. Maybe slightly inferior to some other 55 tonners, but not by much for me.

In a strong defensive position, an 8Q or 9M can wreak face, in a mobile battle, not so much...
depends a bit on the build. I won't call mine a skirmisher, but with the loadout I prefer to run it handles pretty much anything but an outright overrun pretty well... and the AWS was never designed for that to begin with.
