some times you just make a build on a mech and you never change it

my griff 2N has had the same build for 8 months now and i don't see it changing any time soon

same with this battle master 1G

2x med las 4x large puls

this build i came up with just works and it dose some work to with its sexy 54 alpha

so my fellow mech warriors do you have a build that you just never change?

lots.

4 ER-PPC WHK-PRIME. To change just one thing about it, would be to diminish it.
6 UAC-5 Direwolf. For when I've had a bad day and want to destroy.
6 med + AC20 Bounty Hunter. Still more 1k damage games than any clan mech I've played for longer, think about that.
2 MPL + ECM Myst Lynx. I havn't been running it lately because its so OP.
2 LBX-20 + 4 A/SRM-6 Scorch. I don't think I'll be getting tired of One Punch Mech any time soon.

When one has a lot of mechs, and often three or more of the same chassis. one tends to leave them alone once "dialed in". Most of mechs stay the way they are when I find something I like.

Yup. Once a build is in my mind "perfect" it is never changed. When I used to care, If I felt the need to geek out and run a lore build, I would just buy another version of the mech in question and put the new build on that and again never change it. If someone convinced me that a given build could be made better by a slight tweek, 9 times out of 10, same thing: just buy another variant to put it on. When PGI screws with quirks, I am so stubborn that I refuse to change my "perfect" build (usually for "engineering aesthetic" reasons) and again, just buy a new variant and fix it there (now I don't even bother...they'll just nerf it again and in some opposing direction, and they seem to do this so frequently that they have broken my spirit and I no longer care to try and keep current...As an aside: consider the seemingly constant nerf passes of the last year from the point of view of a brand new player. I'm sure it totally give that new player a lot of faith in PGI. Posted Image ).

Thankfully though, there are at least a few mechs that after two years of tinkering still don't feel/look right and so at least I still have something to play legos with. I'm sure as soon as I do get them where I want, PGI will just pull the rug out from under them...just like always. God I miss my Black Knights, Thunderbolt 5SS and 9S, Dragons, Jagger DD, etc. When I look to the nerfs proposed in the PTS I just shudder at how many of my mechs are about to be made even crappier. Welp, thank god for C-bills and the mech lab more redundant versions incoming.

Kintaro golden boy.

5 x LRM5 + boatload of ammo
3 med lasers

No reason to play with perfection.

AC20 Hunchback. Std 250, ferro, endo, DHS, 2 mediums and a small laser in the head, and a bunch of ammo. There's really no good reason to change it. It's not sexy, and it's no longer meta, but it still does what it does quite well.

They are short range and thus have problems with the long-range, pinpoint meta, but they still brawl very nicely and the Big Gun still hits hard. Just keep low until the brawl starts and know where to aim to maximize the effect of the huge cannon.
