I'll usually just report them for AFK if I know they are doing that by Spectating them. But, I've never heard any consequences for reporting at all for anything, so I don't know if it does any good. I do the same for suiciding.

I wish PGI would come out and say whether they are doing anything about reports of players so we know if we should even take the time to do so.

'AFK' IS non-participation, we removed 'Disconnecting' because we have a penalty system for it.

I've seen a few of these tantrums before. They're childish af but they do happen. Just report and move on. Encourage the other players in the game to report him as well. The more reports that are levied against an individual breaking the rules the more attention it gets from PGI.

I thought the OP was going to be complaining about people who are AFK for the first minute of the match. To wit I was going to post, "Dude, when I gotta go I gotta go." Also, "When the kettle starts whistling, I'll be right back." Could you imagine if you had to take a leak while playing Monopoly and someone said, "Where the [Redacted] do you think you're going? It's your turn next; you sit down." Don't be that guy. It's just a game mate.

But that's not what this post is about at all. To AFK quit because you didn't like the team's performance? Were you guys being [Redacted] to him on the comms? Or maybe you were just annoying. One thing I can't stand is when the last few players alive are trying to play their game and win this thing while the spectators cloud the comms with some "What do you think of the new Superwhacker?" conversations.

If not, if they're just AFK because their team didn't win?

That's not cool.

Hello all,

Id far rather see a heroic charge, guns blazing, or even a jump-jet suicide-soar. When you are the only one left, and its 11-2 or some other abysmal score, attempting to snipe the other team to death will not work.....but some try.

Id actually be interested to hear about any games any of you have seen, heard, or participated in that came back from the brink with only one or two mechs winning over a far larger opposing team.....great clutch winning war stories!

I used to rage about this but now I don't. While it is a little inconsiderate I kinda looked at it from their side. If they want to play the game where their stats matter (and don't want to die i.e. kdr) who am I to say that's the wrong way to play? I also thought, IF i was a mercenary in a big stompy-stompy multi-million dollar mech and my lance-mates all died, would i hide and save my precious mech or march out into the enemy and die?

So now, I just disconnect when the game is done and grab a different mech and go into a different game.

PGI could do a lot more to make sure it cant happen.

They could start by actually enforcing their own rules instead of going "well, it isn't a problem because we're not getting (enough) complaints, so whatevs."

Report them, forget them, move on. We're just guests, it's PGIs job to take the trash out.
