I routinely see BAMFs scoring 600-1000 damage in this thing and I'm like...huh, how the heck is he still alive!?
Thanks in advance.

Inform us what build you're running and we may be of assistance.
Warning! Bullshjt detected! Logical breach imminent.
The Shadowhawk is not capable of running dual AC10.

And yes it can, I run the 2h ShadowHawk with dual lbx10s, youtube it. It's nasty man, just nasty. Plus it's elited, which makes you machine gun the cannons.

Then say LB-10s next time, not AC/10s. There is a significant difference between the two in resource requirements and behavior.

The ppc quirks from the D is not worth since the arms are low slung and requiring you to expose yourself fully to take advantage. Also how many srms did you put on because the Timber have a huge easily isolated ST's and putting missiles to the A LT can be at times easy area to pop.
Also the Timberwolf have a high priority level like the Kodiak, Hellbringer, and other good clan mechs so it best to play smart and be the middle guy and try focusing down targets that other fatties are targeting.
And try 4x SPL and 4 SRM6+Artemis on the Delta it's an excellent brawler, just have to be careful of the srm6 ghost heat for heavies.

I like to run 4 SPL in the arms, 2 ERML (on in CT, other in LT), and 2 PPC in the TBR-A left torso.
Another popular build is 2 PPC and 1 Gauss.

2erll
2erml
2clrm15
2cmg
Heatsinks and ammo to taste, full armor.
This build allows you to function at all engagement distances, runs decently cool [chainfire the erll's] and can reach out to touch someone, throw people off their game with the LRM's, AND can take a beating.
You just need to be mindful, when and where the combat is happening, and what you can do to help, you need decent gunnery skills in this mech to really make it shine, utilize the LRM's for disruption tactics, or to hit targets you can't see as you move up into the fight.
fire the mlas and mg's together for a great short range punch and internal shredding ability.
with the symetrical weapons loadout, this mech can roll damage, and keep half it's firepower no matter what side torso is lost. you can stay quite effective no matter what.

I went quad srm6 + art and 2 ppc, that sucked too much heat, can't(dont' know how to) sustain the fight.
I witched to 3 med laser and srm6 + artim, its better, but still, its rather unenjoyable to play due to targeting.I mean its a bullet magnet. Even when running as much frontal armor as a stock Kodak. I have 56 side torso 82 ct.
It was my first mech and I can't elite it easily due to the unreasonably high c-bill cost. After a while i swapped it out for a cheetah-prime and my shadow hawk(s) both of which are elited
Why did they make clan mechs so expensive? I'd play faction more, but i can't afford the damn mechs, and it takes FOREVER to gather a bagillion c-bills to just buy a stock mech, kind of annoying.

The new skill system will remove the need for 3 mechs to elite.
Each clan mech comes with Double Heat Sinks and an XL engine, as well as a lot of other tech. Really, they are about as expensive as a mech can get.

If you want some Timberwolf play with PPCs, I recorded a few matches. I could upload more if you're interested. =]

PPCs are the polar opposite of SRMs - these two weapons don't go together at all. SRMs are somewhat hot and short range, and PPCs are very hot and mid-long range. If you get into a fight at short range, you can't use the 12 tons you invested in PPCs because they will be too hot. If you are fighting at long range, you can't use the 13-14 tons you invested in SRMs because they won't reach that far. No matter what range you engage at, half of your mech will be useless. So it is a bad build, don't use it.
If you're going to run PPCs on a Timber, there is only one build I would consider, and that is cGauss + 2 cERPPC. That's the build I recorded in the videos above.

This has a similar problem. The 3 medium lasers are hot mid-range weapons, and the SRMs are still moderately hot close range weapons. They don't work well together.
If you're going to run SRMs on a Timber, there's basically only one build I would consider, and that is 4x cSRM6a + 5 cSPL. You can also go down to 4 cSPL, or up it to 6 cSPL. This build is one of the best brawlers in the game, period.

Clan mechs aren't quite as expensive as you think. Timber costs about 15 to 16 million, it comes with a good engine, and all upgrades (double heatsinks, Endo/Ferro) . A comparable Inner Sphere mech like the Warhammer or Black Knight could cost over 15 million once you've spent the C-Bills to upgrade it to double heatsinks, Endo, and XL engine. And also, if want to run different builds, they might require different engines. You could end up spending up to 21 million on an IS mech if you decide you want to try a build with a different engine, or god forbid you make a poorly-informed choice and buy an engine that isn't optimal. At least you can't make that mistake with Clan omnimechs.
Also, as an example, this Clan Orion IIC costs about 12 million to buy and build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...02bdcb54778d805
This IS Warhammer costs about 15 million to buy and build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...02bdcb54778d805

I can't believe every team you play against are of the kind "im not gona move an inch while you apply your cerll and then it will be my turn to shoot". Not sure id send a guy who has problem with tbr with nothing but cerll.

Nope. Pretty standard on the brightness and gamma as well. Sometimes I use heatvision, but usually regular vision is the clearest for me. I actually avoid nightvision beacuse it makes everything look green and samey to me, but strangely enough it works on Caustic during specifically night matches - literally the only time I'll use it.

I get lots of smoke on that map, i use nv to see through it.
Regardless of that smoke i use it often when people are good at cresting. I must be a cat because i see movement thats mostly hidden behind something much better in NV than in colours. It stands out better in green to me for some reasons.
