With all those hero mechs and their background stories i was wondering how many true MWO heroes do we have? I do mean those pilots who stick out because they are dedictated to one chassis. Those when you read their name on the match roster you immediately associate it with a certain mech.

So, which pilots do outstand due to their dedication to one mech for you?

For me it is Veigl. When i read his name i am intuitively scanning the battlefield for a CDA-3M. Especially the flanks.

I do remember Mcgral18 and Deathlike measured their Banshee-3Ms for a long time. Then there is Bishop with his HBK-4G, though I haven't seen him play at all recently.

There are some people I associate with specific mechs, but as a rule of thumb (and not wanting to paint everyone with the same brush), they usually have an annoying approach to the game and I am disappointed whenever I see them in game, because I know there will be trolling, hiding, griefing, etc.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but I just felt I had to point that out, since we're using the term "heroes".

Some of them are nice tho.

I recently saw him in one of the Steam 3Ls which I hadn't seen him in before so assumed he had just bought it, he indicated no, just that he had multiple Raven 3Ls. I could only nod sagely at the rightness of that.

As for others, Judge Jury and Executioner in that damn sniper Spider of his.

This is for sure.
I once had my high opinion of someone I thought was an all around great player, shattered because they were still capable of getting good scored in a dragon slayer, even after the JJ nerf, until I saw how he did it, which was use the entire team as a meat shield, with zero intention of sharing armour to help out.

Anyone that's a half good shot can do that, and if all 12 had played like him, he'd look as bad as the rest

The emphasis was about mechs other players associate with certain pilots, not about their skills or way of play. Feel free to add villains as well.

Festus and his Cicada 3F. So fast, jumps off small ramps for extra air and then turns, presenting you with the perfect sk33t target to brighten your day. (for some reason the forum software thinks "sk33t" is a bad word).

Pops like a balloon at a pincushion convention. Every time.

Sacrifces himself to make you feel better. His team, not so much.

W A R K H A N and his Shadow Cats. If I see him on the roster, I expect an enemy Shadow Cat is going to try and circle behind my team and punch holes in our rear torso armor.

I would say it pays to be paranoid at times, but, if the threat is actually there, is it really paranoia?

(Belated edit: I hope I never get associated with any one chassis.)

It's all in his head.

I'm a little torn, part of me obviously would love to have ppl recognize me but on the other I'm like Pariah & I wouldn't want to be associated with just one mech.

I mean, I might make an exception for the Huntsman, but.. yeah. I rather be known for being great in many mechs than great in just one.

If I ever got gud enough to be recognized for anything besides anime gifs, I'd WANT it to be being great in a specific mech. Better stories and recognition from that. But instead, I'm just recognizable as being bad.
