Not only did you do the lamest "kill this new mech" requirement, but there was virtually nothing for people that didnt want to pay for what is honestly just another run of the mill assault. I remember events being a lot more enjoyable in the past.

Yeah It was supposed to be weak because they planned on launching the skill tree PTS for the weekend, but then they didn't because it wasn't ready.

i think they did it this way because of the pts cycle, which is a good thing btw. fewer people avoiding pts because of event requirements. 3 days of premium time is still a pretty good prize. stack that xp and cbills for the skill trees.

It was a weak event for a weak mech that apparently sold pretty poorly.

Seriously, I barely saw a Supernova, until the last night of the event, when I saw some of the most pathetic, lazy loadouts. Stock SNV-1s and quad-LRM15/20 SNV-As were everywhere in my matches tonight. I honestly ignored them, unless they were the last hostile mechs up, because despite being a 90t Clan assault, the common builds were just totally nonthreatening.

The saddest part is that the mech looks so good aesthetically, and some of the variants have decent build options. I think a poor first impression is going to lead to a lot of Supernovas (among the ones that actually sold anyway) gathering dust in neglected corners of a lot of mechbays.

In this event, I started my first match, stomped forward, pumped 3 alphas into the nearest SNV. Team mates killed it shortly afterwards, "Kill most damaged dealt" popped up and I thought "That means I'm done for this event."

I don't own one, but from butchering them with my MAD IIC, they feel exactely as inferior as their stats would imply.
Worse profile, worse hardpoints, too slow, JJs are too heavy.
If one doesn't want it for emotional/nostalgia reasons, it's just an inferior Mech, nothing else.

I killed a couple supernovas 2-3 times my size but did not KMDD, so did not win the contest. But gameplay was about normal, so still fun.

don't know how anyone can complain about 3 days premium time...but as evidenced on these forums many times over many years, people will complain about anything, even free stuff

You don't get the point:
No one complained about free stuff. That's pure polemic on your end.
People complain about a dull event. Meaning even if there were no prizes at all, a more creative event would have been more fun.
But even on the cold material level: past events yielded much more than this. But again: this was not the point.

If you want to make any indication about immature behavior, think about childish, statement-twisting polemic like yours. And then stop it.

I played, but wasn't aware there was an event. I just got a premium time injection with no explanation. I had to ask someone what it was about.
