Has anyone piloted this mech?
I am interested because of the huge team benefit.
Trip AMS & ECM.
Does it work like that?
Thanks.

In general I like Kit Foxes for the large amount of firepower they can carry while also keeping the ECM. I tend to just cut the AMS since by T1 people either know how to dodge LRMs on their own or they are being attacked so badly that all the AMS in the world wouldn't save them.
If you're seeing a lot of LRMs though and just like the idea of standing around your assault lance and shooting those missiles down then Kit Fox is one of the best mechs for the job. Even after you put in all the AMS and ECM you will still have enough tonnage for some good firepower, you could get anything from some medium lasers and large pulse lasers to a UAC5 or UAC10 to missiles of any type to either get rid of lights or fire your own lrms or to just SRM blast anyone who gets close. Really a lot of combinations to come up with. Even if the whole AMS boat thing doesn't work out for you you'll just open up more weapon options.

I love mine. And players on maps with a lot of LRMers will love you. It is sort of the mechs I started out with and work well in Tiers 5,4 etc. The ECM is always good, never run a variant without it on. But after a while, you will start trading in your AMS and ammo for more weapons.
The Hero is the best $10.00 spent in this game. It up the weapons and has better hardpoints for them. You get added 4 lasers hardpoints in the torsos which a nice plus. Otherwise, their arm hitboxes are low. One arm, the right one is a bit higher and you can make a sniper out of it with a ER LL.
Do not expect or count on the heavies and assaults staying close to you or even close to each other. You have to stay near them yourself. If standing behind them, watch their feet and if they move back, move back faster.
Your job is to support the assaults and heavies so.....you need to protect them from enemy Lights coming up from behind, give them ECM and AMS coverage and when you run short of AMS ammo, go kill something, lol.
You will not get a lot of damage or XP, you will save your teammates from damage. I ran towards and into swarms of LRMs, lol.

"Support mechs" are a nice idea that aren't worth their slot in matches with decent players.

The Kit Fox C can provide huge team benefits. Unfortunately, it will not provide huge benefits to you in C-bills or XP gained because AMS and ECM coverage are not adequately rewarded in either of those. If you are not worried about those and are just feeling benevolent then by all means use it. Your team will love you.
Otherwise, grab yourself Purifier for $10, put the C arm on it and then go out and do some damage and earn some rewards.

kitfox C also has the best quirks in the game for C-LPL
energy range +10%
energy heatgen -10%
energy cooldown +10%
heat loss rate +15%
the negative is, and its a big one, the left arm mounts are really low in order to receive the full quirks but kitfox agility works around this easily enough
with armor sacrifices its a delicate little thing but if you can keep range, keep good positioning, shield with your right side, support larger teammate & avoid other lights & getting focused best you can - you can do some serious work constantly pulsing
