Greetings.

Just been testing UAC2's on one of my ac2 mechs.

Didnt take long.

They have been nerfed into the ground.

4 second Jam and the measly 5% Jam chance reduction results in horrible performance.

Their burst dmg doesnt last long enough to be meaningfull and their DPS from 0 heat to shut down is abysmal compared to normal AC2's.
When testing with a number of these weapons on a mech, the time to shut down is varied depending on Jam's but its somthing between 14-20sec in my testing, resulting in roughly 15-21 DPS, again this all depends on the Jams. Compared to my live testing of normal AC2's i get 26.66 dps constant over 16 seconds.

Sorry PGI, you dun goofed on this one.

UAC jam rate should be a multipler of the AC's CD. Not a flat number across the bored.
A 4 second jam on a UAC20 means its lost 1 cycle. A jam on a UAC2 costs it 5.5 cycles.

Somewhere in the region of 1 to 1.5 multiplier is what im thinking.
That would result in the following jam times bassed on stock CD (obviosly changing depending on CD bonuses).
UAC2 - 0.72 - 1.08 second Jam
UAC5 - 1.66 - 2.49 second Jam
UAC10 - 2.5 - 3.75 second Jam
UAC20 - 4.0 - 6.00 second Jam

PGI you really need to stop and think about your use of sweeping all encompasing changes. Large weapons and small weapons will gain and loose completly different amounts if u use a global % or flat number buff/nerf.
it's like you current PTS nerf to CD reduction, you may have done it to slow down alpha strikes and increase TTK, but in actuality it wont affect such builds much as they are more limited to Heat than CD, and instead of reducing alpha's its actualy hurting DPS builds ALOT more, and they are already at a dissadvantage.
PGI you need to be more specific with your buffs and nerfs.

Yeah they nerfed it a little too much, I think 10% jam chance might be the happy medium.

The CD nerf wasn't the only change, mobility changes really messed with poke/alpha mechs as well and help dakka mechs. Its too early to tell where that balance falls in line at this point.

Just a quik update comparison.

on live

my AC2 build vs a UAC2 build

AC2 26.66 constant DPS for 16 seconds before overheat
AC2 varience - Nill
UAC2 26 DPS for 9.3 seconds before overheat on average (with 1 additional heatsink over the AC2 build - less ammo)
UAC2 varience - 25 DPS to 34 DPS , 7 to 11 seconds to overheat.

So live, the UAC2 and AC2 have great balance. The UAC2 is a AC2 with spiky varied DPS, but the average DPS over a longer period of time is roughly the same.

The same cannot be said for the PTS. UAC2 has a significant dissadvantage
AC2 22.22 DPS
UAC2 18.75 DPS average

Thanks for pointing this out. but if you changed the titled to UAC 2's people might be more inclined to see this thread

Does the same hold true for other UAC's?

Oh no, it's crystal clear.

Go take a poptart or an LPL boat.

With weapon performance down to 5% modifications and all ballistics but Gauss absolute garbage (due to loss of quirks) there's nothing on the IS side, nothing at all, that competes with LPLs and mediums. Not even close. Clan side? SPLs or gauss+PPC destroys *everything*.

Take an ERLL anything vs even a mediocre Clan mech with gauss+ ERPPCs. You're not 'trading'. You're getting destroyed in the laser boat. No more 10-15% burn duration plus heat reduction plus range modules and cooldown modules. Those ERLLs are utter ****. Gauss and ERPPCs? Still like live for all intensive purposes.

WIth burn dur on all lasers functionally higher (due to lack of quirks) combined with crap twisting IS LPLs + mediums can't be beat.

The elimination of almost all quirks and 9 million cbills to get mediocre to low end quirks instead the top tier mechs with the best weapons are now just clean out of scope for mediocre mechs with mediocre weapons.

Take a ballistic WHR with ISXL vs a 3 LPL whatever with a standard engine. Take a ballistic anything vs a top tier Clan laservomit or gauss+PPC poptart.

ISXL got nerfed hard by mobility and every weapon that isn't naturally superior just got a functional 15-40% buff over every other weapon that lost both modules and quirks to make them competitive.

Wait wait wait, you want to talk about over nerfing a jam chance. Anyone remember when the UAC5 Ilya was nerfed? Yeah that was 35 or 40 % chance of jam. Try that and get back to me.

Just because the game was previously broken doesn't mean that it isn't broken again. UAC2's are a damage handicap now. You loose dps by taking them. Kinda crazy.

To the OP can you math out some UAC 5 and 10 stuff also?

40% is only 6%, when it comes into direct comparison with the UAC2 changes

The quirk % are relative (to the base jam percentage), while the UAC2 changes were absolute
