This is my suggestion.. for the first month they should just remove all costs of nodes for balance testing reasons. there are going to be masses that don't have a clue about the system, and lots of trail and error should happen.

I also say there should be some events during this month. A by class event.. maybe the first one, then a All mech event by weight class, then have a variant in very class has their own category.

Let um make some tweaks, and then re-run the events. Rewards for these events could be GXP as we will need it.. Posted Image

They could also do some counter type events that unlock Free level up tokens that you can unlock all skills on a single mech. (get people playing!) So even if you don't place, but played 50 matches, or maybe a 100 matches in the month you could unlock one or two mechs for full leveling. Maybe have 4 unlocks total.. (think of new players and 4 free bays.. Well why not 4 Free leveled mechs too!)

I think this would give people time to adjust, play with things on live, and more importantly give people a chance to see how it all works, with out making it feel like instant grind. Give people a time to get settled, especially while PGI is with out a doubt going to be tweaking things, people won't need to be paying to respec their mechs especially if major tweaks happen.

*edit, after this time frame, costs and XP should go live and peoples mechs rest. Now people need to start spending money/XP. They could also have a buy now option, meaning the way your mech is set at the end, you can press the buy button, so you don't need to recall your settings and re-do it and your mech becomes ready to use in your bays.. Basically a buy button to play the mech, Or hit respec, and then you start over. easy-peasy right?

It's not about delaying a problem, its about getting people to try 100's of builds on test to get better data. Also during the learning curve people could also be much more excepting, after learning more about it.

You don't teach someone to swim by tossing them in the ocean during a rip-tide, A pool is a better option. A month of live testing so to speak would be the pool.

Besides most people on test are t1 or long time players, we really need to see how this system works with the masses.
