Of those 3, the ones I find hardest to fight as a dirty Clanner are Griffins, generally because they don't (always) run XL engines.

I find the Shadow Hawks to be much more versatile 'mechs compared to Griffins, but this is only from experience in Quick Play.

Not played Bushwackers, however I find them the easiest of those 3 to deal with.

I also think the Griffin is the best Mech for anti clanner work, my favorate build is a 3M with 4 SRM4, 2ML and a Standard 300 engine with a 44 point alpha.

the standard engine means it can take a lot of damage, it twists well, the Griffin has great torso twist range so in my experiance it is usualy possible to dictate which side you loose (the side without missiles), and the arms cover the side torsos pretty well.

The Griffin-2N is amazing and available for c-bills. The Bushwacker costs real money. I feel the superior agility and ECM are of greater use in scouting than the wacker's tankiness.

Shadowhawks are subpar I can't recommend them for this gamemode.

The following are good scouting mechs
Hunchback-4SP
Crab-27B
Centurion-A
Kintaro-18
Griffin-2N
Griffin-3M
Bushwacker-S2
Bushwacker-P1
Enforcer-4P?

I think all three have solid scouting builds. I don't often play scouting missions but when I did I felt my Shadowhawks and Centurions played well. Haven't yet scouted with my Bushwackers though.

I suspect it's because all Bushwackers come stock with an XL engine so it's more likely an XL Engine Check will kill it. For scouting you'd probably want to go with a standard engine build which should be quite tanky thanks to the Bushwacker's armour quirks. This BSW-P1 build is probably close to what I'd run, though it might be a touch light on ammo (which can be remedied pretty easily by swapping a heatsink for more ammo).

The 6 missile Bushy can work well, but I still have to give it to the griffin

Is this the 6 MPL build with an STD?

Been running my hunchie lately in scout mode, and enjoying it. Of the three you mentioned I would probably recommend the Griffin. Having said that there is a lot of brawling in scout mode, so i would take which every mech you feel the most comfortable brawling in. Also you need a big enough engine to go over 80kph. Preferably 90+ kph.

@JC: I prefer an XL because you can fit 19 DHS @ 104 kph. The ability to break off generally doesn't exist in scouting so I rather have firepower and cooling. If you use a standard engine you are making concessions in heat management.

If you switch to standard medium lasers you can remain cool but at the cost of some speed and a lot of firepower.

Your question did prompt me to buy another Crab. I now have a CRB-20, 2x CRB-27, 2x CRB-27B and one CRB-27SL.

With such a limited choice, Griffin-2N, ONLY if I had to choose tween the three.

If I was able to choose myself, Shotgun Centurion hands down and all day long.

I do really prefer the Griffin-3M over the 2N because of its capability to tank a lot more because of standard engine. Sure, 4xSRM6A is a powerful punch, but having 4xSRM4A + 1xFlamer + all the Structure quirks with a STD Engine it is in my opinion the better choice, plus you can use your whole left side for shielding.
Bushwacker is a powerfull brawler, even the X1 with 1xMPLas + 3xSRM6A + 4xMachine Gun due to its armor quirks and its capability of good damage spreading without the need to do a full torso twist.
As you can see, both are brutal fighters in a brawl but each of them requires a different playstyle.
Shadow Hawks are definetly viable, too. They also have good structure bonuses, but I havent played them a lot because I dont like the FOV in their cockpits Posted Image
In the end, it depends on your playstyle and your preferences. All three of them are a great choice.

Remember: Teamplay OP, you can even win every battle with a Blackjack-1X because this thing is solid, too.

I enjoy both the 3M and 2N Griffins, but if I'm running a STD engine I think I'd actually prefer the 2N over the 3M. If you lose the right torso on a 3M, that's basically all your guns anyway, and any pilot who knows what they're doing is going to shoot the boombox on a 3M.
On the 2N, at least, you can have a symmetrical missile loadout, and still survive with about half efficacy the loss of a torso.
I usually run XL on either, in any case, but in the 1 v 1 MWA tournament I used a STD 2N for that reason.

For scout matches, I'd agree, Griffin is my favorite.

Allot of great recommendations here but if you willing to consider other options & buck the meta how about giving the Phoenix Hawk a look?

PXH-1B

The 1B with 4MPL & 2MGs packs a punch, the maxed out armor & good hit boxes make it tanky & its FAST! All under an ECM bubble.
