"Estimated wait time" would make waiting more comfortable and not graying out and locking the use of the interface while waiting would further help not getting bored.
Thanks,

Wait times are definitely a problem.
We want to play the game, not sit there watching a screen.
It may be that for quick play we will have to merge solo and group queue to improve these wait times, but should we do that we should also look at another step in how we group up and how sides are balanced.
For Faction Play, there used to be an indicator of how many players were queued on a given planet. The recent shift to a combined bucket of just Clan vs IS did help, but I personally feel that we should have a very different system for Faction Play that simply allows us to select a planet on a contested border and drop onto it. No wait times at all. Bit too much detail to write here.
I completely agree that we need to look at some solutions and alternatives.

Wait times are a HUGE problem.
Not once have i quit the "searching" screen and closed the game.
At these times i don't care what weight class I drop in, in what mode or what map.
Heck, I dont't even care what mech I will drop in, as long as I can even play!!
But whining does not help, so here is my recommendation:
Please implement a ""ReallyQuickPlay" button (insert fancy name).
That Button will press that mech into the Matchmaker-queue, that fits best.
You need 35tons? Take my jenner. You need 100 Tons? Take my atlas and so on.
But. Let. Me. Play.
Everything that reduces wait-times is worth it.

And one more thing:
Please don't tell me that the %values of the weight-classes are in any way connected to the wait-times. 12% light-mech-players? Good. I will take my oxide... and i will quit after 4 Minutes. Oh, 40% Assault Players? Let's take my KingCrab, and after 4 Seconds i find a game... ?

Coming back after a long period of inactivity, I really feel, either the playerbase has become much smaller, or something got messed up. Some would argue, yet another thing.
