So one thing that has bothered me about CW/FW/FP for a long time is that the rewards are given out in way that eventually stops working. By this I mean, once you hit max rank in something you have no reason to stay, you get no further rewards. This is, to put it simply, counter productive, short sighted, and a staple of a place holder.

My fix would be taking from World of Warcraft, yes I know hate me all you want for saying their name but their reputation system and faction specific currency system is the ideal solution here. So what do I mean. Well, first we keep the current ranks you gain, that is fine. But, rewards you can buy get discounts as you go up the tiers and unlock other rewards you can get. Now each faction has certain rewards that only it has, like maybe being able to buy mechs that said faction produces for said faction LP, light mechs when you are at a low rank, heavier mechs when at a higher standing. Now merc's not to screw them over don't get mechs, but do get access to other things just like loyalists like mech bays (so no more "oh I need to grind to x rank for another mech bay, just save up that LP and buy it), decals, maybe even a few camo's for merc units. Loyalists would get faction colors, decals, patterns, mechs, cockpit items. Things usually for MC, gives incentive to play and play a lot. Another thing is you can use that LP to buy a mech and maybe you don't really want the mech and just want that transfusion of sweet cbills, or maybe you can just use the LP to just cash in for a wad of cbills, or GXP, or consumables, or cache keys, or caches.

Now each faction has it's own Loyalty Points obviously, effectively it's own currency which most had in lore. Don't know about clans because clanners are clanners and do things strangly. Either way, spending LP wouldn't decrease your rank, rank is determined by how much LP you have earned over your time playing, life time earnings, not what is in your bank account.

I feel not only would this get more people willing to play Faction Play to get mech bays, decals, colors, ect, but, it would make loyalty points actually mean something and that once you hit max rank you aren't just collecting cbills which you can do in QP anyways. This would give FP something QP doesn't have which is something FP needs to have from a player incentive view point. Give a carrot, a mighty fine carrot for players to go after, to know they can just work hard and get all the mech bays they ever need by playing FP some will wander over and play more often. Though that doesn't address FP gameplay itself which will be another topic.

I like it.

To really create a system that will last we need a way to spend those loyalty points and a reason to earn them back.

Seems like mixing both your system and my own would be ideal. Spending LP for those bonuses as well would be great for those who don't need more mechbays, or cbills, or colors, or cockpit items, or decals, so that fluffs out the list with actual usable and tangible bonuses.

Now to just get Russ on board and make FP game play a bit less static :P
