Does anyone remember these game books that came out from NOVA games I think they had a locust, a griffin, a rifleman and a few others they were awfully fun you each had a book for what mech you were piloting and would tell the other what page to turn to for outcomes of shots maneuvers etc.

No don't remember that book,but do have the old Mwch warrior 2 , The Official Strategy Guide book.
Also wondering if all or some of these mech's will be in the new MWO game,an if the new game will follow the style of the older Mech Warrior 2 style of play...Just wondering.

Todd, I played with those books a grand total of 1 time, and it was not a memorable experience for me, so I never collected the books. Sorry.

I Have them all, Warhammer, Griffin, Rifleman, Locust.
They are a fun game, but you can figure out how to win in no time. The Nova Lost Worlds books had a little more to them.

Heh, yeah those were kinda fun...though choices became stale after a few play-throughs. There were several products that used the same mechanism...I remember another that was a WWI airplane combat game.

Maybe the guys at PGI will give them to us as an April fools game and tell us that this is what MWO is going to be.

There were six books that I know of. They are;
Locust
PheonixHawk
Griffin
ShadowHawk
Rifleman
Warhammer
I have them all except for the Rifleman.
I have never "played" them, I just thought it was a neat addition to my Battletech collection.
