These little beauties sound great...unlimited ammo in exhange for heat. However as a Paul designed weapon what will be it's ghost heat number?? (2? assuming 3 laser AMS will render a Kitfox op??) Posted Image

It won't make them OP. It'll just make them viable fillers for when you have extra tonnage left over. Especially if you're running a mech with good heat efficiency. In other words, it'll make them worth taking as opposed to now, because at the moment noone takes AMS. I'm just curious to know if AMS and LAMS will work on MRM's. Also it won't make the sh*tfox OP. It'll make it not sh*t and actually worth taking to a match. It'll still be a weak mech though even with LAMs. Unless you're running the Purifier. 4 ERML 1 ECM and 3 LAMS will make it very potent, but the extra tonnage spent on the LAMs in addition to being a laser boat will make it very hot and probably not viable. We'll see I suppose. But it should make for some interesting kitfox builds. I might would run 3 ERML, an ECM and 2 LAMs and maybe one or two double heat sinks.

Could go full support and run 3 LAMs, ECM and some ATMs. That'll make the Kitfox an excellent support mech.

Oh that actually sounds fun, might have to pick up a kit fox when this comes out.

I wonder how much heat they're going to add, sarna says 5 heat for clan and 7 for Is. It wouldn't take long to overheat a 3xams kitfox with this much heat.

`
Yeah it'll run pretty hot if you're running an energy build. If you take 3 LAMs and an ECM you'll probably use ATMs as your primary weapon. Which will essentially make it a support mech that hugs near assaults and heavies. The cover it provides with LAMs and ECM in addition to lobbing ATMs at around medium to short range will make it a great support for heavier slower mechs. Boring playstyle for me personally but for people who like to run LRMs this will make for a fun mech to play. It might be preferable over a pure LRM based heavy or medium mech simply because of the added support the LAMs and ECM provides.

AMS works on SRMs so i think its safe to say it will work on MRMs.

Hope so. Because MRMs sound like they could be pretty powerful.

Just running things through my head I foresee a kitfox build running something like this:

Kitfox-C Right arm: 1ECM, 3LAMs 1Doubleheatsink.
Kitfox-PR Right torso: 2 micro lasers 1 double heatsink 1 ton ATM ammo
Kitfox-PR Left torso: 2 micro lasers
Kitfox-D Left arm: 2 ATMs 2 tons ATM ammo 1 double heatsink

LAMS are best on ballistic or missile mechs, where they are mostly heat neutral and want to squeeze in as much ammo possible.

The Purifier is worth the 10 bucks. The ear mounts kinda are pay to win. It's not a super great mech to begin with, but the 4 high energy mounts open up a world of options for builds.

Lol, heat neutral mechs in MWO. No such thing exists in this game.

Touche

I use a Gausshammer with 4 mids as backup, just using the 4 mids I can overheat that mech. Heat neutrality in this game is a fallacy.
