Something that is the counterpart of Clan Hellbringer, with some high mounted hardpoints, preferably energy. It doesn't have to be a new mech--a new C-Bill variant for existing Heavies (such as Grasshopper/Warhammer/Black Knight) is fine. CTF-0XP has low slung ape arms, and is nowhere near as effective as the Hellbringer. This is especially apparent in CW, where ECM Heavy is basically non-existent in IS drops. Hell, IS ECM mechs in general are basically non-existent in CW drops.

There are couple of IS mechs on other classes that come close, such as Griffin-2N, but it is missile boater, which means either it has too short effective range, or has to use LRMs. Stalker-3FB is too slow to keep up with the pack, and not available for C-Bills until later this year.

So in the interest of fairness, I want an IS ECM heavy mech (again, on existing chassis is fine) with high mounts.

You want the Bandersnatch.
BND-01Ar: A simple refit, this version carries a Guardian ECM Suite in the center torso. Bandersnatch has an odd shape, but all narrow elements so should be as good as any other mech even though it is wide. 6x medium lasers back-up a potent main group of 2x LB-10X autocannons. 3x LRM 5 add some long range reach. This is your ECM mech.

Maybe the Thanatos is on it's way. It fits the new FedCom Civil War era and was part of the MW4 stable. PGI likes to cater to MW4 nostalgia when it fits the timeline, so there's a good chance the Thanatos will make it into the game soon

Thanatos is fairly wide in comparison to other IS heavies, but yes it fits the "wants".

Only non-ECM variant is the 6S, but that's a 3081 mech.

Which one of the main reasons FW is so untenable for the IS.

Most of its hardpoints are mounted low. So not ideal. Same with Bandersnatch.

Hell they should give the Roughneck a ECM variant.

How about a decent ECM IS assault other than the atlas DDC?

I mean, there's the stalker FB, but it's paywalled/inaccessible for quite a while, and that thing has a crap engine cap like all of its stalker brethren

Wow, the more you look at it, the more skewed towards clans you see the game actually is

Dragonfire, end of discussion. Seriously, no other potential ecm heavy can compete
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Dragon_Fire

75t, mix of ballistic & energy, mostly cockpit height weapons

Jinggau, 65t, cockpit height weapons, ballistic and energy. It's interesting because it's ECM variant also has MASC.

If you want to see other strong mechs check out this thread.

I'd submit to you the Gunslinger http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Gunslinger and Fafnir http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Fafnir

The Templar's A config also has ECM
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Templar

There's also an ECM Banshee (8S) but it has TSM and a hatchet plus C3 slave

Toyama looks great, but we need the Jihad for that mech to be here.

The crotch cannon is not. Posted Image That said it is a good mech, certainly got that Marauder-esque survivability boosting profile. I woulda preferred if it had more energy points, so it will be even more foolproof.

Dragoon is another good alternative.

Aye, it doesn't need to have ECM though afaic, but a meta-compatible 75-85-tonner would be nice to counter-balance the Night Gyr. A good 100-tonner that can carry an XL wouldn't hurt either. It's what the KDK does unmatched after all.

Hey now, that's just to make you jealous while you're getting blown away.

The one issue with the Dragoon is it's 100% extinct and so far PGI has never done an extinct chassis. (Kerensky hunted them down and destroyed them very deliberately)

As for the Toyama, why would we need the Jihad? It's intial production date is 3057

There's also the Thunderbolt 7SE that funnily enough comes out in 3067 that has ECM. Gauss in the RA and 4 Mpluse in LT & LA

Once again

Inaccessible to most because of paywall, and even when we get it it'll be slow as balls so it won't really highlight ECM's use to its full effect
