Closed beta testers can't say it, so my guess is that Atlas is probably like lvl 7 heavy with full upgrades (weapon choice is probably not to your liking so you may need to customise it later), but only lvl 7 will be allowed in release and lvl 8-9 will be in a year or so.
And it's unclear what other players get for free. If developers truly want the players to use any class of mech from the start, in theory new players may get some cheap 80-ton Assault (so it's about equal to a lvl 6 vs lvl 7 in WoT, but with a cannon that always penetrates)... But i doubt it that devs will give Assault mechs for free. I bet it will be Heavy at best.

I think it's more important that Founder's mechs get 25% extra income so you can get some extra money while playing a mech of your preferred class. I don't like farming so extra money are always nice.

The stats on the tanks are skewed anyway. I remember some leaked hidden values which was extracted from the game files/database that was posted in the russian forums long ago, along with graphs to make it easier to read. All the Ru tanks had great cammo values by default, even their heavy tanks had better cammo than the German tank destroyers. From JagdPanther and up and cammo value was pretty much non existant compared to the russian TD' s which had cammo working for them up the tiers. Their excuse was something like you should attack with the German TD's anyway.

So far I like the community over here on the MWO forums; we don't need a bunch more WoT players over here lowering the IQ and raising the selfishness of our teams. Most WoT players I've known were 30+, so not the bunch of kids people might expect, but nevertheless most of them I don't really care to know . Please note;
I have been playing WoT for a while now and have to say honestly I do enjoy it.
I have also played Battletech (the table top game) since the late 80's and loved it the whole time.
I have played the most of the Mechwarrior computer games since they came out.

So in conclusion and firstly I will say I cannot wait for MWO to go live as I will definitely be playing MWO but I will also find that it will be competing for my time with WoT as I have not planed to stop playing that either.
Only time will show which of these two games will come out on top as my favorite, but I will be playing both.

WoT Player here. Dumped hundreds of Euros in WoT ... bought all the preorder-packages, a few gold-mechs and wasted a trizillion of gold in free-xp transfer. (never really used gold ammo though).

I will concentrate on MWO now, it has greater potential imho. And I am a BT TT veteran, so MWO really is my favorite game.

You will see your biggest tanks just aimlessly driving around, they will come up on something and just fire, no aiming, no reticule settling, no terrain advantage..just out in the middle firing, then cry that they died like a fool. Ive seen countless guys....they see their base being capped and they are sitting in the enemy cap, AHEAD in the cap timer, then they decide..oh, I best go reset our cap....so its 79% to 42%........"***** leaves cap"...0% to 58%, ***** trods along back to base.....59, 61, 64, 78.....hes a quarter way back to base...100%, FRIENDLY BASE CAPTURED....the extra line should be.."***** HANDED ENEMY THE WIN"! WoT just didn't turn out to be what i imagined.
Whats bad about it:
It's imbalanced in many parts
It is antifun in many parts (arty+new game modes)
It has pay2win elements (Gold ammo, gold consumables, soon Gold cameo)
It is buggy (random bounces, 0 dmg hits)
It's random (Random chance to hit random chance to penetrate, random damage)
It has powercreep

So i'll give Mw:O a chance to do better in those areas, and from what i've seen it looks really promising, i'm exited

Oh and by the way haters: Saying "All WoT players are morons and kiddies" is not that mature either

No, not ALL, but in all seriousness, I would venture to say 85% or better are clueless morons....Play with the XVM mod, it shows winning percentages and efficiency ratings of all the players in the battle....you will start to get a clue...85% or better are 40-46% win rate, 90-95% have efficiency ratings lower then 800....you might say those stats mean nothing, but they do.....you take AAALLLLL The stats into account...the efficiency rating rates your: Capture Points, Defense Points, Kills, Avg Dmg....if someone has a poor Efficiency rating here then that means they are a lazy, non team playing tard who doesnt ever get in the fight and will either be sitting in the corner, or sitting at 500m waiting for the kill shot, dealing 5 pts of dmg in every game so they can pad thier kill stats and brag about that...they dont attack and capture the enemy base, theydont fall back and defend their own...they wont get hit and deal thousands of points of damage in a battle, they will deal just enough to get 1 shot in for a kill point....TARD!..

Now, if you translate that into thier low *** win rate, the reason they have that low *** win rate is because players that low: They do not: Read the map, react to changing battlefields, support friendlies, aim, kill scouts, protect arty....they are just all in all clueless idiots who aim only to survive, getting a kill point with as little effort as they can....If you gointo a the XVM mod and then go take a look at those players stats, their Avg Dmg is very low, usually several hundred below their tank's health and they have low capture points and no wins....they are just all in all clueless...so yes, Stats, while you dont control every aspect, the player stats DO give a general idea of how well that player plays the game...why do you think there are 55%+ players in WOT despite there being Pubs? Its not all in Clan Wars.....In WoT I have a 53% overall Win Rate, Efficiency Rating of like 1303 and I play 100% pubs..my avg damage for my account is rather low because I played so many battle poorly in the Easy 8 but as of late my Avg Dmg per battle in my m103 is 2350 something, that is a full 1.2x more avg dmg dealt then my tank has HP...my T32, avg dpb is 1990 something....the tank only has 1550 hp...my win rates in those tanks are 55% and 59%...a 45% WR player wont have that as he doesnt aim to win the game, all in all being a moron...and no, dont get me confused saying you cant "play for fun", but if your going to be in the game, then be in the game...if you want to dick around and NOT play the game properly, that is what training rooms are for....go be an ***** in the training room, spare those who do want to win your idiocy...

Also, it seems people who say "I Play for fun", are simply using that as an excuse to be a total jack *** and continue to ruin the game for those who also play for fun, but take the game a bit more seriously...WoT really needs a "Hardcore" server where those who want to win go and a "Bouncy Castle" server where all the clueless kiddies can go... and I dont mean Clan wars.....

I have stopped playing WoT due to the overabundance of players who "play for fun".....40% win rates, 400 eff ratings, utterly terrible players who need to go back to cheating in CoD......

For me im sick of hearing "It bounced off", We just ding him" & my personal favourite "We dint penetrate their armour", at least MWO u can use a small laser and kill an atlas, i only play WOT to x2 my exp thats all.

See, I dont have an issue hearing "it bounced off"...I have an issue hearing "It bounced off" when its my M58 120mm cannon with 269 penetration bouncing off an AMX13 that has a TOTAL effective armor of maybe 60mm....my absolute minimum possible pen roll is like 230?.....THAT iswhat I hate....or being a sniper tank that has really poor Dispersion, or WoT's obsession with making US tanks so weak armor wise..the M103..its armor might as well read 0...its a T9 HT that you can kill with as you say in your post...a small laser....and it wont take long....THAT is what I hate..WoT and thier gay *** game mechanics..and the RNG..

Yeah, the Bias is pretty obvious...have you see a T50-2? THAT is the most OP annoying Pos tank in the game..then we have the Obj704...its invisible with an accurate god gun..the IS4, great armor, great gun good mobility....while the other nations have no armor, mediocre guns, avg speed...Aweseome tanks are reserved soley for Russian tanks and that is annoying as ****...tack the Bias, ***** players and stupoid *** mechniacs..yeah...I can see WoT losing alot of players to MWO..they lost me awhile ago, I only logged in like for 3 battles every 3 weeks for awhile, now im at 0 games ever again...

Many People played WoT, so it is not a Surprise that many of them will play MWO too. Like me for instance. WoT is a short, simple Game, you can Fight, bring your Son to bed, Fight, get a new Beer, Fight, mow the lawn, Fight etc... MWO is similar. I played the BT-Tabletop a long time ago, but anyway i played WoT too.
If you have a lot of Players, you have also a lot of different Players, ask Darwin.

Maybe it will be easier to deal with the idiots as we have alot more guns and a tougher ride to take them out with...I know In MW4 i could face roll like 5 AI mechs before dying...maybe the WoT mechs drivers will play like the MW4 AI and I will wreck their faces here.....Another thing going for us is the 1st person view....WoT has a 3rd person view so its easier to see around you, and 90% of the players play blind in that game, with no situational awareness there, wit ha 1st person view only here, they will reall play blind and deaf and dumb lol.....Platooned with my uncle, maybe WoT player raping will be easier here +D I know in WoT my uncle and I did very well together =D
