Yesterday afternoon, the NA Server’s ping (for me) shot up from 205 to 311 (bounced between mid to high 200’s to over 300’s each time I checked it).
So for the first time in recent memory I was actually playing on the Oceanic Server… as it was stable, with a playable ping and consistently lower than the NA server.
Have I entered into another dimension or something?

Nope, you have entered a place where the routing is done correctly so you get a good path to the server instead of being bounced around Australia and Asia before getting there.

It can fluctuate. My ISP had changed its route few times and ping was affected.

I see you list location as NZ, so OC server is geographically nearest to your location.
I mostly play NA and OC, they offer the most consistence connection for me.
EU server adds an extra 100~200 ping to my connection.

Yup. .. but I haven't played on it in six months... due to how unstable or high it was for me. Been na only (til yesterday) for same period... it was so usual it stuned me... hence what reality am I in!??
