At the same time, duplicates of a variant should only cost 400 XP per node.
While I think that 0 C-Bills entirely would be better, this would be a pretty good compromise, because:
- PGI has stated that the only time the cost is going to seem excessive is at launch. Most of us who are Mech-rich have multiple variants. If I only have to pay C-Bills to skill up 20 Mechs of the 80 I have mastered, because the other 60 are different variants, then it would make it a lot easier on me.
- It would make it worthwhile to get additional variants, because the skill-up cost for another variant is cheaper than for another chassis.
- It would make it more palatable to get a second Mech of the same variant if you so desire (or to level up duplicate Mechs).
- It would somewhat simulate the design on live, where a module purchase can be used in multiple Mechs. In this case, purchasing a skill on one Stalker lets you get a C-Bill savings on the other Stalkers.
