R68, sure.

Arrow IV? Yeah that isn't going to unbalance anything to add......

Unless that Arrow IV is a tactical nuke, I seriously doubt the viability of an AIV urbie, lol. You'd have at most 1 ton of ammo with a pitiful engine and no backup weapons.

Plus, it'd require split crits because an AIV is too big to fit onto any single component. If you trust PGI to do it, it'll have to be a locked part so that the split crits stay split.

not worried about the urbie. The Arrow IV on larger mechs is the concern.

Yeah, that might be an issue. Then again, it'd have to have some serious benefits to even consider taking. Normal LRMs are already close to useless at max range, and the AIV is meant to be almost a field rocket artillery piece. Even if it does do 20 damage to a single component, or is treated as a missile with multiple warheads that splits on approaching its target, it'd still suffer from the same issues as LRMs.

Why would you bring a 15-ton, 15-crit weapon that completely misses, when you can also bring a 10-ton, 5-crit weapon that can do essentially the same (ploughing into cover)? Unless, of course, the AIV is immune to AMS fire and has AoE damage capabilities - but knowing PGI and what happened when SRMs were AoE, you really don't want a single missile doing ~100 damage to an enemy with one hit...

Considering how they fracked up the Long Tom, you can bet you are they'd frack up the Arrow IV...

I wouldn't mind an SRM or LRM Urbie.

Is it just me or does that urbie look like it should fall over with the over sized arm.

If we get MRMs, I would prefer the Kuritan UM-68. It swapped the AC for a Shigunga MRM30. Quite an unpleasant surprise for Clan Ghost Bear.

UM-68 is a mighty mite that I'd be happy to drive super-stock.

Then again, MRM-40 has exactly the same loadout footprint as AC10 does. Can o' Whoopass, indeed.

That's EXACTLY why i wanted the catapult arms in PS. That bay-doored arm is gorgeous.

further proof that majority of the playerbase doesn't give a damn about balance or getting things right... what they actually want is OP nonsense and the feeling or appearance of being badass (reality optional).

Sorry guys =p

First of all, I agree with what everyone said.

An AIV UM would be COOL.
AIV would be OP.
An UM with missiles would be COOL.

Seems the path is clear....

UM-R64: (2,203,141 C-Bills)

Geared for fire-support, the Urbanmech is instead equipped with an STD100, and three Class-V Jump-Jets, increasing it's mobility allowing it to quickly reposition than other Urbanmechs.

At a low-budget, the ballistic arm equipped with an AC10 is replaced by a missile-pod with a bay-door, armed with cheaper weapons; two LRM5s and two tons of ammunition for long range fire-support, and a SRM4 and 1 ton of ammunition for short-range backup. The left-arm is equipped with a Large-Laser providing a long-range primary weapon, being not reliant on ammunition allows the Urbanmech to stay in the fight even after the ammunition has ran out.

QUIRKS:
RATE OF HEAT LOSS: 18.00 %
MISSILE COOLDOWN: 20.00 %
LRM 5/10/15/20 SPREAD: 10.00 %
SRM 5/10/15/20 SPREAD: 10.00 %
LASER DURATION: 10.00 %
LASER RANGE: 10.00 %
TORSO TURN RATE (YAW): 15.00 %
BASE ARMOR (CT): 16.00
BASE ARMOR (LT): 10.00
BASE ARMOR (RT): 10.00
BASE ARMOR (LA): 7.00
BASE ARMOR (RA): 20.00
BASE ARMOR (LL): 10.00
BASE ARMOR (RL): 10.00

How's this for a variant? I tried my best to keep it cheap. I did this by making use of smaller launchers instead of large ones -- like the LRM15 costs 350,000 cbills, whereas 3x LRM5s just costs 180,000, and compared to the AC10 that costs 400,000 C-Bills, the Large Laser only costs 200,000. This allowed me to use Endo-Steel, and STD100, while still being under 2.5-million C-Bill. As for the quirks, yeah i'm not a balancing god, so i can't say it's balanced.

About they only way I could see Arrow IV not being completely broken, would be to force players to use the battle grid for targeting, rather than normal targeting.... To see if anything is in the grid you target, you need someone with TAG or UAV....

Edit:

Stupid Autocorrect.....
