2. The new respecing costs - both CBill and XP - are also designed to reduce available CBills, encourage players to buy Mechs with real cash, and pay to convert Mech XP to GXP?

Nope. Nope nopity nope. There is no C-Bill cost to respec. There is a one time C-Bill cost to unlock each node but once you do, that's it, XP only. There is no C-Bill cost to respec. I'm so sick of seeing this presented as an argument against the Skill Tree.

There are many things wrong with the Skill Tree (and many things right with it) but this? This isn't one of them.

Got it thanks. I have updated my earlier post accordingly.

Reddit and the forums are so toxic right now with crying man baby's that it's irritating.

I double dog dare you to name any other Online video game, either PC or Console, starting from 1996 when Diablo was released, until now, that is about to take away as many hours of gameplay and achievement from players as this one. Any other game, including strategic, MMORPG, RPG, First person shooter - any of them.

PGI is about to set a record. It's going to have some complaints about it, and you're delusional in wanting reality to change on that point just for your tastes.

That's fine I understand the outrage, but this is too damn much. People are acting like children and need to grow tf up and realize it's just a video game...

Well.. diablo 3 did, for one - when they correctly decided having an online auction house ruined everything that makes Diablo a good game, and removed it while simultaneously making much harder difficulty levels and new much stronger items to complete them with - everyones tricked out, 1000s of hours endgame chars became early level characters that could get better items in 30 minutes of gameplay. Yeah, they didnt technically remove anything, but the net effect was the same thing.

That comic fails to cover all the cbill cost reworking masking the true villian in increased xp costs on new mechs trying to make people mc convert old xp to gxp. cbills is never going to be the problem for me gxp will run out 1st.

That's called new content and powercreep, does not remove any progress and you dont have to play those higher level maps. In MWO, content and powercreep is new mech and we deal with it like this. *click store button, buy latest meta* or wait 4 months for it to be released for cbills. The general objection from the community about the tree wasnt be about powercreep and having new content to grind, it was grinding the same content, losing time invested for later.

This is clearly the content the game needs.

I disagree.

A video game is something which costs from 0.25$ to 60.00$. People, more than a few people, have spent over 1000.00$ on MWO. Some people care about what PGI spends player-paid money on. If paying players knew PGI was going to waste SO MUCH time and money "developing" at least 4 game breaking changes, which we all had to beg them not to do, I don't think they would be spending any money on MWO at all.

Its both, just a video game and also my m*****f***ing money.

My

Money.

Sorry, but that's business.

So, after all the new and change and fluff they are adding...

The question is...

Will I still want to buy a mech pack?

I mean, in a pack are a few mechs, I may not like half of them for any number of reasons, play a couple and favor 1...

If I no longer need 3 to master, why buy the ones I do not need as I no longer need 3?

With this (non-)incentive removed, I feel I can wait beyond pre-release until most chassis come up for c-Bill release...

So, still want to buy a mech pack?

They are giving you all the cash for the the modules they're giving you back all your xp to spend where you want so not sure what they're taken by from the you? My main goto mechs easily have enough xp to skill out as well as a whole bunch more and any others will give me something to do. Plus as a lazy B I'm help no more module swapping required.

Not sure how many people here have worked on a serious code change or upgrade, but these things don't magically happen over night.

people don't use modules on all their mechs, so now they have to grind for extra C-bills as needed in order to min/max the skill tree on them. So if someone only uses modules for half on their 40 mechs, that means they have to grind 6 Million for those twenty he still has. That's 120 Million Cbills he has to grind if he wants to outfit the rest of his mechs via the new skill tree.

If they think it's a grind then why do it? I tried the new system on test and it wasn't brilliant but I prefer it to the current one, thought it gave me more choice on how I skilled out my mechs to suit my play style.

I get some players are upset, but some of them seem to think PGI is personally out to get the player base.
