The PGI Brains Trust is meeting right at this very minute, and a community holds its collective breath!

Did the PGI leadership make it into the office in time for their early start...? Are there enough donuts and coffee on hand to fuel the immense neurological processes necessary to both consider all the player feedback and synthesize it into a viable course through this troubled transition...?

Will the the new Skill Tree metamorphose into a some new, even more malignant form? Will it be neutered into a benign shadow of its former scary self? Or will the current placeholder skill tree - a mere pup just four short years of age - be given the opportunity to "settle in a little further" so that "more data can be collected and analysed" as per PGI's usual careful, thoughtful analytical approach to decision-making and change?

An anxious playberbase scans the skies of Vancouver, awaiting the traditional puff of white smoke which indicates that Paul has burned another scribbled lunch napkin.

This guy does meetings for meetings and this is news? They must have done 100 meetings for the new faction warfare and look where that got us.

Expect minor tweaks that ultimately don't change it very much.

I think they will postpone implementation.

Maybe even assign it to the same team that has been thoughtfully reworking InfoTech and Energy Draw.

What is this "music composing" of which you speak...?

11am is the worst time, everyone is just thinking about going to lunch in a hour.

I honestly hope that they don't. The fixes are simple, straightforward and easy to implement. Don't scrap it, fix it!

Perhaps they are working out how to combine Energy Draw, InfoTech and Skill Bubblewrap into one supermegaglorious idea.

I do hope they are scribbling on chlorine free recyclable napkins.

I'd like them to implement it, then fix it. We've spent the past four years proving we can play with a garbage skill system in place. The people who hate it hate everything, anyway. Let's get this show on the road!

I hope people are keeping their expectations realistic. The best we can hope for is compromises. Not Unclebeetnick's Supremo Skill rework that completely alters the UI, skill mechanics, and replace sounds with jazz tunes.

Perhaps they'll consolidate the less useful skills so they're not as mandatory at the same time making the skill trees smaller and less points.

Followed by arranging a few more skills to be a little linear. Without completely giving over to the idea.

And of course cost reduction.

They should just push the damn thing out. I'd welcome any change at this point. Analysis paralysis is creeping in and having too many cooks at the fire just leads to an aborted meal. You'd never please everyone with any change you make, while stagnation makes EVERYONE get less interested in the game. Push it out, see what sticks, see what doesn't and move on.

Why couldn't PGI do this for FW, or is FW the new Lostech™?

It makes no difference... they are delaying the inevitable.

Not sure I give a ****.

Everything that can be tied down is, and it's just a case of waiting for the storm to hit.

This could be the greatest april fool ever but I doubt it.

Well it's about 2:30.

Assuming they worked through lunch it's probably all fixed now, right guys?

Right?
