The game needs a C-bill economy sink. The game also needs an MC sink. The biggest issue i see from this complaint about change is, I bought all these mechs, and can't afford to level them. Or they are FTP people that never bought modules and "exploited" the system with a few sets and moved um around to buy more mechs. I am not saying this as a bad thing, it is just a simple fact. I personally have exploited the crap out of IS mechs with engine swapping. In fact so much a full 1/3 of my mechs DONT EVEN HAVE ENGINES! Sure i can pull an engine, but it doesn't make it any less true. Sorta like some omni pods on some clan mechs. But that aside and not really the debate..

The biggest issue right now is the transition. We have an old economy, and a new. So far the only thing they have said, is we need to find a good medium ground.. But honestly i don't know why that is. What they need is a good transition.

they need a fully working economy for the future, and they need a way to transition from the old. To me leveling tokens is the way to do it.

It only needs to classes.

First class, If you paid for the mech with MC, give it a token. You paid money, here is a bonus, You can level that mech under the new system for free. Presto, easy peasy. No cost leveling to you. Thanks for buying/supporting us. (most folks will get something from this, some folks could get a lot.. The down side, is the token is only for this mech, and works one time.

the Question, Should it be for every mech you bought or"special versions" like +XP /C-bill booster mechs? Should it be a strait 1-1, or 2-1, 3-1?

Second class.. People that are kinda like me, Not many bought mechs with MC, but played a good amount and worked the system. Give these FTP players leveling tokens based on Matches played. Matches played= money/time.

This would mean that you could just get a single token say at cadet.. Maybe another is added every 50 or 100 matches.. (what this actual number is i don't know. Maybe it is dynamic, some early easy tokens, make it harder to earn tons. It could also have a Max cap.

Basically this solves both issues. People that played a lot but worked the system to not get left out to dry due to them just really playing the system. Those that bought a lot with real money, and are more casual won't be left with a 500m price tag..

the first class tokens never expire. First time you level your paid mech, it's free a PGI thanks to you.

Second class tokens i personally think should have an expiration date. Maybe a month? the reason being is to keep folks from keeping the 30 tokens, and use um as they get a random new mech for the next 3 years and pretty much just break future economy, for what they really are is to transition your already owned mech. .A simple flag on the account showing when a mech was bought. Then just remove the unused tokens at a later date. I say give some time, so people don't have to spend hours leveling tons of mechs up.

They could also be on a timer, so those that are taking a break, don't get the timer started till they log in their account. Sorta a premium token timer.. :)

Now you work on 2 things.. the transition economy, and the future economy.. They have no reason to be connected in any way.

Simpler fix would've just been to give every mastered 'Mech 91 skill points to spend for free. No need for token.

That's called the horribly expensive camos and colors. Around $6 for a single camo on a chassis is a pretty big one, TBH.

Sure sounds good, i end up with modules in every mech, 500million cbills and a boat load of gxp. I can't see how this would hurt their business at all lol

You can only play one 'Mech at a time. You already had modules on ever 'Mech effectively.

There is no business there to be harmed, anyway.

This issue is i now have 500 million cbills and gxp. A lot of people are pushing over a billion. Like i said i have no problem with getting 50 mechs worths of cbills for free but i can see why pgi wouldn't want this.

I don't see why PGI would care. You can't spend either currency on premium items like 'Mech Packs, 'Mech Bays, colors, decals, or camouflage patterns. The only thing in peril is XP conversion fees, but whatever. If you have that much GXP, you were playing enough that you didn't need to convert anyway. Premium time still has value on its own since it's necessary for private matches.

It would hurt mech pack sales and prem time sales. Why do you think they give people the minimum rewards they can every match?

People in my unit never bought prem time for private matches as at least two of us had it running at any given time. I run mine for cbills and xp on new mechs. Of course it might be an issue if each of us got a billion cbills haha

How would it hurt 'Mech Pack sales? You can't buy 'Mech Packs with anything other than real money. You can buy individual 'Mechs, but only once they are out for C-bills.

I never bought premium time for the currency booster. In fact, I've never bought premium time, ever. I only have it massed up from 'Mech Pack purchases.

They have a whole store of mech packs you can get with cbills. I know a lot of people who have bought these because the grind was to much. People are still buying the kdk pack.

If cbills has no effect on pgi profit line they would have made the skill tree free.

You can't buy those with C-bills, they are bought with MC...which is not being refunded. None of the packages are available for C-bills, it's MC through the game or actual money through the store.

Unless the goal was merely to create something to do with the C-bills we accrue ad infinitum when we aren't spending them on individual 'Mechs and equipment. With how much MC PGI hands out, I sincerely doubt the tiny transactions like XP conversion or node refunds mean much to their bottom line.

I dunno. I think it's much ado about nothing.
