Should We Start A Betting Pool?

Options:
- Yes new tech will make it into the game.
- No new tech will not make it into the game.
If we want to get more detailed betting we could possibly set it up too.
- Will new tech be delayed?
- 90 days?
- Will the PTS responses to a PTS of new tech cause for delay, or canceling of implementation?
If I was going to bet I would say no new tech will make it into the game because community responses on the PTS about new tech, community hates change when if finally gets close.

I call new tech WILL be pushed back, but not because of PTS response, but because of general design balance issues..
Then, there will be a PTS, and after that, it will be shoved down our throats.
It WILL however make it into the game, because people were promised the Mad Cat Mk II and by God they will get it, or QQ out of the game!

Whether it's broken or not, it may or not be hot patched
Remember, we had fairly OP Clams for a couple months

Unlike the other rejected changes, New Tech will add something to the game without taking something away.

While I agree that folks will be fine with new tech, I disagree with the later part of your post. Much like with the skills tree I feel certain that they will include a nerf pass with new tech and it will be of a scope greater to what we just saw for both IS and clan mechs. Whereas with the skills tree pass they only looked to offensive quirks. I suspect that with the LFE coming in we will see any mechs known for standard engine builds to have not only their offensive quirks hit but a significant reduction in defensive quirks as well. Some of this nerffing might even be justified.
The point is, is that new tech, just like the skills tree will indeed involve something being taken away. You can bet on that.

Adding half of them would be difficult to balance, but all of them - i just don`t see that. Especially the new Missile options (ATMs, MRMs, Rocket Launchers) will be a huge pain to implement into the current gaming environment.

IS tech:
LB-? ACs = in
Ultra AC/? = in
ER Lasers = in
Streak SRMs = in
Light and Heavy Gauss = in
Light and heavy MG = in
MRM = possibly (just SRMs with longer range...)
Rotary AC/2 and 5 = out (they'll need to do some coding)
Rocket Launchers = in, but never used unless they can be placed into critical space without requiring hardpoints
Varieties of PPC = in (code already exists)
Light Fusion Engines = in (just a variety of Clan XL)
Light Ferro = in
Stealth Armor = in, but removed in PTS because they will nullify LRMs
TComps = in (just variant on clan TComp
Laser AMS = in
Clan:
Light and heavy MGs = in
Micro Laser / Micro Pulse = in
Heavy Lasers = in
Light Tag = in
ATM = in (the ability to alter damage drop off already exists)
Light Active Probe = in
Laser AMS = in
TLDR;
Most of the stuff announced is just a heavy or light version of what is already in the game, stat changes on a XML document.
The 1... yes, just 1... weapon with unique mechanics will not make it into the game.

Because it will upset their very fun ppc/gauss meta we have now.
