nice list, now i want make a similar list for possible mechs & variants that could be available. maybe tag each variant by likely faction access.

The Field Manuals had a quite an extensive list in their back for faction-typical MEch designs (some of them, the series was unfortunately not really consistent). Think that would be a good starting point.

Actually Irontygr, it means you get to SEE Clan tech being used shortly before you either

a) die
:D get taken as bondsman

The rest of the Inner Sphere will have no idea of the Clan's existance for another year.

C)Wet yourself when being shot at ranges that far exceed anything you field by better pilots then you could be in faster and tougher mechs

(but damn is killing clanner satisfying)

*edit*

The clans also only did let one of their captives gain in ranks, ask khan ward about his oppinion on that

I took everything from the Tech manual and implemented it as a pre-3049 and including 3049 so this list is accurate, Now then the devs will decide what to include or not, The list is of that oh so tantalizing word of dreams.
Possibilities.

Nah, there were several others. But none of them came from the periphery.

I went to the local gaming store, for some references on Battletech since I'm old fashioned and like books.I asked for books on BT tech lists and all the guy could come up with was a manual from 3027, and that of course wasn't what I was looking for so I thought. So can I have some recommendations for books? I'm guessing I could save some gas/grocery/beer money by googling, besides this tech list here. Comments and suggestions appreciated.

Sure.
http://www.battletech.com/
find a list of current products.
All that info is taken directly from the Tech Manual.

No, all of the houses had access to the Helm core because the Gray Death Legion copied it and sent one to each house. FedCom just happened to be faster on most things than anyone else because of the NAIS.

What he is saying is that just because they had access to the technology doesn't mean they actively pursued it. If I gave you all the info you would need to make motherboards, could you start making them tomm? No, because you don't have the machinery etc etc to start making components etc. Also, if that data core said "..then plug the XNR-7 capacitor into the corresponding GQA-12 slot and..." the Houses would have to try and figure out what exactly a XNR-7 capacitor was.
