Thanks PGI for the event with the well regarded IS assault Banshee-3M(C) as the grand prize.
The Banshee has ample room for any loadout you could want along side it's 95 tons gives you enough tonnage to bring an engine rating over 340+ with room for days for said loadout.
If you haven't owned a Banshee or play much of them then I suggest you do as it's one of the few IS assault that don't need no structure or armor buffs due to it's amazing hitboxes.
Here is my current: BNC-3M(C)
Post your personal builds if you like.

I was glad to get mine on the 4th bag, but it's so far off my comfort zone I'm at a loss for what to do. I know meta is just to slap as many large pulse laser on high mounts and have at it, so I guess it's going to stay stock. Playing an assault scares me, really, can't run or hide and that's all I know! I've got the (L) King Crab and Atlas too, but they are like new-in-box.
Is it worth moving up to a STD380 or something?

If you are moving up to 380 rating, better use XL and 5 LPLs. Use a couple of SLs to prop up those LPLs.

Not sure what you mean by ample room for any loadout as it only has ample room for any load out you could want provided its laser vomit or ppcs, well at least it'll act as a good test bed for me to try out some of the new IS ppcs, as I was kind of lacking in IS mechs, specifically one good with energy. However admittedly for the energy weapons it is limited to it is a good mech.

Sure the common build for the 3M is LPL's but it can run MPL, ML, (ER)LL's and (ER)PPC's.
If you're running XL's it best to slap the biggest one you can as it's pretty XL friendly(for an assault).
You could put an STD380 but you'll be giving up room for less heavier firepower.
The stock loadout is fine, I personally don't like having my main firepower all on one side of the mech.
