Basically whomever takes command should be able to tell the VIP to do orders like back up, hold position, move forward.

Since the VIP moves on a predetermined path, it often will force your entire team to break formation and suicide rush into an established firing line, because your choices are either to let the VIP autisticly waltz into the open with no cover, or charge in blindly in a bad position.

Letting whoever takes command tell the VIP to hold still prevents that.

Would probably be used to grief. Doesn't matter though, because no one votes for escort anyway because it sucks (as predicted).

Well it would determine how you are able to issue the orders. If you can only issue "Hold, Back up, Move forward", it can't be used to grief any more than now considering the AI is always "CHAARGE INTO THE FIRING LINE!". And if the commander dies, VIP goes back to move forward as default.

Also, the VIPs predetermined path should be shown.
